How did you meet?
In 2013, Sean and I met the old-fashioned way: on OkCupid! We both knew pretty much as soon as we met that we would be in it for the long haul.

How did you get engaged?
Sean and I are avid music lovers. One of our favorite musicians, Joey Dosik, was playing a show in Brooklyn in June of 2019. Sean secretly planned an epic proposal with Joey on stage at the show. It was one of the greatest moments of our lives. Luckily with thousands in the crowd, we were able to get the whole thing on video.

Details of the day!
We were going for a boho elegance vibe with lots of blush, deep pinks, gold and ivory. The florals were really important to me, so we worked closely with our florist to make sure every detail would be perfect for the big day.

Why did you choose your venue?
We fell in love with the outside ceremony space, the swans and the lake! It is all so dreamy. But the inside is just as beautiful with those stunning views of the lake as the backdrop. Everything went perfectly with our vision for the day.

What was on your menu?
We had our guests choose from four entrées of Lady Di chicken, seafood trio, Chateaubriand and vegetable lasagna. Our cake was half red velvet with cream-cheese filling and half funfetti with vanilla-mousse filling. The outside was covered with buttercream frosting, gold detailing and a cascade of fresh flowers.

All about your gown!
My dress had an A-line sweetheart neckline and a V back with bead detailing. The bodice was covered in lace and sequins flaring out at the waist with sparkle tulle. The second I tried it on, I felt like a princess and knew it was the dress I would walk down the aisle in.

What was your favorite moment?
My first look with Sean and his reaction to seeing me walk down the aisle. That moment was so built up in our heads over the last two years of waiting. And it was everything we had hoped for.

One detail you couldn’t live without?
Putting my dress on in the bridal suite. It is such a beautiful room. I will never forget walking in and seeing my dress hanging surrounded by all of the bridesmaids’ flowers and my bouquet and all the little details that just came so perfectly together.

Did anything go wrong?
Throughout the day there were mishaps. But none of it mattered; I was so beyond happy the entire day.

First dance song?
Our first dance was “Take Mine,” by Joey Dosik. We knew we had to do a song by Joey since his music has played such a huge role in our lives. Sean and I have matching “Take Mine” pins that we had with us all day. Mine was on my bouquet, and Sean wore his on the inside of his tux jacket.

Any advice for future brides?
The day went by in the blink of an eye. Soak in every moment of every part of the day. We made sure to spend time together alone during cocktail hour in the bridal suite and it was the only alone time we had the whole day, so I recommend every couple to do that!

Honeymoon location:
We are going to Barbados at the end of August. We are so excited to get away after the craziness of the past year and planning a wedding during a pandemic. We will be staying at Sandals Royal Barbados. We can’t wait!
