They Reconnected a Year After Losing Touch & Just Got Married at the Olde Mill Inn

Olde Mill Inn and Grain House

When Nicole and Eric chose the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge for their June 7, 2026 wedding, the venue’s classical charm was the deciding factor—a place that felt, in Eric’s own words, like somewhere their grandparents would have gotten married. Photographed by Catia Conde, their summer celebration was soft, romantic and full of family meaning: a palette of soft pink and white, baby photo table numbers, and wedding photos of their parents and grandparents displayed throughout the reception. Eric wore a custom Knicks blue suit and his favorite moment was watching Nicole walk down the aisle, and feeling time stop completely.

Their Story

“Nicole and I met at a cheap local gym,” says Eric. “We went on a few dates but I switched gyms and we lost touch. Nicole actually deleted my number. Something didn’t feel right and I eventually reached back out to her a year and a half later when I was living in Hoboken. We went on a date and never looked back.”

The Proposal

“I took Nicole to Mexico along with three other couples,” says Eric. “Everybody knew I was going to do it except Nicole. I told Nicole to wear white and there would be a party at the resort. I said we were going to take photos since we all looked so nice. Each couple on the beach took photos together. We went last and I dropped to one knee, she was shocked!”

Choosing the Venue

“It had a classical vibe that made us feel like it was somewhere our grandparents would love and get married at,” says Eric. “Everybody was so genuine we knew right away it was the place for us.”

Details of the Day

The theme was romantic with the colors being soft pink/white. Decor included baby photo table numbers and photos of the couple’s grandparents/parents getting married.

Favorite Moment

“Nicole walking down the aisle,” says Eric. “Time froze and I knew it was the most special moment I would ever have in my life.”

Wedding Day Attire

“My wife wore a white Sophia Tolli dress. I wore a custom Knicks blue suit with a double breasted vest,” says Eric. “The bridesmaids wore a dusty rose chiffon dresses and the groomsmen wore custom navy blue suits from Indochino.”

Advice For Other Couples

“Enjoy the process. Whenever you are stressed realize that once the moment is over, all you have is the memory. You will look back and wish you still had the stress of planning because that day was the best day you ever had in your life.”

Honeymoon

“We have not gone yet and plan to do it in 2027. We had family from all over and wanted to get to spend time with them so we chose to see them for a few days.”
