How did you meet?

Anthony and I met when I moved to Brick for the summer to take a college course. I stayed with my aunt and uncle. My cousin Kevin is the same age as I am. Kevin introduced me to his friend group including his best friend, Anthony. We started off as friends which eventually developed into us dating. We started “officially” dating January 6, 2014. We were long distance for a year and a half while I was at West Chester University. I spent my summers in Brick and then relocated after graduation.

How did you get engaged?

Anthony and I went apple picking at Eastmont Orchards on September 21, 2019 with another couple. He walked me down a less busy row of apple trees looking for the perfect apple. He pointed to an apple for me to grab and when I turned around he was down on one knee with the ring. Our friends had brought a camera so we have my reaction as well as posed photos after. We popped a bottle of champagne and went out to dinner to celebrate that night after calling our families.

Details of the day!

Our color scheme was mauve and charcoal gray with silver accents. We had white anemones and lots of winter greens for our flowers. We also got to enjoy Park Chateau’s beautiful Christmas decorations which was an added plus of a December wedding. We wanted more of a winter theme rather than a focus on Christmas. One of the most important details for me was for it to snow during our first dance during the reception. Our favors were chocolate covered pretzels dipped to look like a bride and groom.

Why did you choose your venue?

My brother and his family live down the street from Park Chateau Estate & Gardens and were originally the ones that suggested we look at the venue. After viewing it online, we knew we had to book a tour. Park Chateau was the first venue we toured and from the moment we stepped on the property, the staff was beyond accommodating. I was sold by the time we viewed the chapel and bridal suite. But what I loved most about this venue was it felt the most like it fit both of us. I loved that it gave me all the princess vibes but has the library, which was very masculine and fit Anthony’s taste. There were so many locations for photos and the food menu was a never ending list. After sitting down with Preston, we knew they would do anything and everything to make our day perfect.

What was on your menu?

We had an extensive menu for cocktail hour, which included a custom Polish station with one of my favorite foods—pierogis. We also selected the Jersey Boardwalk station as a nod to our first summers together. The dinner menu included Chateaubriand, chicken, chateau and pecan-encrusted salmon. We had a four tier cake with two flavors—two tiers of blueberry cheesecake and two tiers of funfetti. We also had passed desserts and pedestal desserts on each table which were a huge hit.

All about your gown!

I knew I was going to want a ballgown and I really wanted a dress with a “wow” factor. When we arrived at Seng Couture, they allowed us to pull dresses for me to try on. I actually pulled “the” dress myself. I tried on about 10 dresses total before putting back on my top three. When I put this dress back on, I had instant butterflies and started tearing up. By the time I came out of the dressing room to show everyone, I was full blown crying. I said, “I hope you all like this one because this is it.” I loved the lace detail and the sparkle on the layers of tulle.

What was your favorite moment?

My favorite moment was when the chapel doors opened and I saw Anthony at the end of the aisle with a huge smile on his face. It was like we were the only two in the room. I am so glad that was our first look. I thought I would be so nervous with all eyes on us for that moment and for our ceremony but I was so in the moment, I didn’t even notice.

One detail you couldn’t live without?

My “somethings” were my favorite detail of the day. My something old was my clutch. My mom had my bridal clutch made out of her wedding dress. She surprised me with it at my bridal shower. It is so beautiful and it’s something I will cherish forever. My something new was my dress. My something borrowed was my sister’s hair clip from her wedding. I clipped it to my bouquet that morning. My something blue was pinned into my dress. It was a message from my parents in my mom’s handwriting that she had stitched over in blue thread. They all had so much sentimental value and meant so much to me.

Did anything go wrong?

We did have a lot of last minute cancellations due to Covid but Park Chateau really worked with us that week. While some people were unable to be there in person, we know there were celebrating us from afar. If anything else went wrong, we never knew about it because the venue made sure everything ran smoothly.

Any advice for future brides?

Pick vendors that you vibe with and know you can count on. A strong group of vendors will take the pressure off you and your husband on your day. We got to sit back and just be in the moment because I knew the details were all being taken care!

Honeymoon:

Our original plans for a European honeymoon had to be postponed due to COVID but our “Plan B” turned out just as incredible. We flew into Seattle and road tripped down the Pacific Coast Highway. We explored the Oregon Coast, stayed on the Avenue of Giants, stopped in Napa and ended our trip in San Francisco. The views while driving were breath taking and we got the chance to stop and explore so many cool towns and attractions.
