Ari and Steve’s Fall Photo Op Engagement

How did you meet?
We grew up in the same small Northern NJ town and even went to the same high school. Steve was a grade older than me and we never met until my junior year when we started working together at the same after-school program. We became best friends and dated that same year!

How did he ask?
We have been dating since high school so I did have an inkling of a proposal in my future. Steve and I both love the fall so I thought it would be a good idea to take a couple’s trip with our best friends to Salem, MA to take in all things, Halloween. Little did I know, this would be a very magical weekend, indeed. We walked through a park right before the sunset and I just thought the views were very pretty and relaxing. We got to the cliffs and Steve asked our friend to take a picture of us. (I did think something was up since he never suggests a photo op.) I started to get suspicious so I even felt his pocket to see if he was carrying a certain box. (Granted it was in the other side)
After coming up short, I was convinced we really were just taking a photo…. until he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! What a lovely surprise!! The crazy part about this story is as we took our “oh my gosh, we just got engaged pictures,” courtesy of my best friend… a rainbow appeared in the sky without a single drop of rain in the sky!
