When Alexandra and Anthony chose the Grain House at the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge for their June 5, 2026 wedding, it felt like them immediately—unique, antique and surrounded by lush green nature, with an outdoor ceremony space and an indoor-outdoor reception that gave the day a relaxed, natural energy. Beautifully photographed by Jess Glass Photography, the celebration was as handcrafted as it was heartfelt: Alexandra hand-painted the welcome mirror, seating chart, signature cocktail signs, table numbers and name cards, while Anthony built the card box by hand in his woodworking shop and Alexandra painted that too—adding greenery, flowers, blue lovebirds, suns and hearts throughout. Their florals came entirely from Trader Joe’s.
“Anthony and I met on Hinge and clicked instantly. We had our first date in Asbury Park, where we ate pizza by the lake, strolled down the boardwalk, got ice cream, and sat on the beach watching the waves and getting to know each other more deeply. We started going steady on our fourth date, and the rest is history!”
“We had talked about getting engaged for months, so I couldn’t believe when he still managed to surprise me when he popped the question! We were in Lake Placid, NY on top of a mountain with our friends. He asked if I wanted to take a picture, and then got down on one knee, held my hands and teared up as he said he loves me and asked if I’ll marry him.”
“The Grain House at the Olde Mill Inn felt like us. It’s unique, antique and surrounded by lush green nature. We loved having our ceremony outside in front of the trees and gazebo, and celebrating in the unique cocktail hour space and beautiful indoor/outdoor reception space!”
“I hand-painted many of our details like the welcome mirror, seating chart, signature cocktail signs, table numbers and name cards. I loved how special it felt having these handmade pieces!”
“Anthony also hand-made the card box in his woodworking shop, which I painted. I included greenery, flowers, blue lovebirds, suns and hearts in the details.”
“My favorite moment was dancing care free on the dance floor with my husband and all of our beloved family and friends, having so much fun and knowing that our wedding day was more perfect than I ever could have imagined.”
“I had three dresses. During the ceremony and cocktail hour I wore a floor-length silk ivory gown, then changed into a slightly shorter white dress until the last two hours of the night when I wore a fun peach dress with mesh floral details. Anthony wore his black tux with suspenders and bow tie all night. Our wedding party wore blue!”
“Trust that everything will work out perfectly. And book your wedding at the Grain House or Olde Mill Inn because they make the process seamless!”
“We left for Italy two days after the wedding! We spent four nights in Rome exploring the main sights like the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Vatican City, and also loved exploring Trastevere. We took the train to Florence and spent four nights there, visiting art museums and gardens. We took the train to Venice and spent two nights there. It was one of a kind!”
