When April and Zac chose Beaver Brook Country Club in Annandale for their July 10, 2026 wedding, it was the warmth of event coordinator Deb—who made them feel like family from the very first meeting—that sealed the deal, along with the gorgeous golf course views and sunsets that framed their summer celebration perfectly. Beautifully photographed by Dean Michaels Studio, the day was built around two things April loves most: sunflowers and the color green. Unable to choose just one shade, she incorporated three—and sunflowers appeared everywhere, from the ceremony arbor and centerpieces to the cake and card box. Philly pretzels with custom stickers sent guests home happy, their dog Malcolm made a cameo for couples portraits and appeared on cocktail napkins and signature drinks, and the night’s most unforgettable moment happened completely organically—when “Forever” by Chris Brown came on and everyone naturally formed a circle around April and Zac on the dance floor, filling the room with the kind of pure, spontaneous joy that no amount of planning can manufacture.
“We met on Tinder while in college—I was at West Chester in Pennsylvania and Zac was at Rowan University,” says April. “Funny enough, we met through social media, even though neither of us is very active on it!”
“When we met in person, everything felt natural. We laughed, talked all night, and bonded over music and chicken Alfredo. The rest is history!”
“Zac proposed during a hike to a place we had visited early in our relationship,” says April. “I wasn’t sure he was going to propose that day, but I painted my nails just in case! At the top of the mountain, he got down on one knee. It was simple, sweet and intimate, which felt so perfectly us. Afterward, we celebrated at our favorite place—Chili’s!”
“We chose Beaver Brook Country Club in Annandale because Deb, the event coordinator, instantly made us feel like family,” says April. “She was warm, kind and welcoming, and put us completely at ease.”
“Also, the venue was affordable and beautiful, with gorgeous golf course views and sunsets. Zac also loved the complimentary foursome of golf—it felt like the perfect fit for us!”
“I’ve always loved sunflowers, and green is my favorite color, so those became the inspiration for our wedding,” says April. “With six bridesmaids, I couldn’t choose just one shade of green, so I incorporated the three shades I loved most.”
“Our bouquets were the perfect mix of sunflowers, greenery and white flowers. We sprinkled sunflowers throughout the decor—from our centerpieces and cardbox to the ceremony arbor and our cake. For favors, we gave guests to-go Philly pretzels with custom stickers!”
The couple also loved having their dog, Malcolm, stop by for some pictures. They incorporated him into their signature drinks and on the cocktail napkins.
“One of my favorite moments of the night happened so naturally,” says April. “When ‘Forever’ by Chris Brown came on, Zac and I started dancing together, and everyone formed a circle around us. It felt like we were floating—the energy was so beautiful and full of love. Then we invited everyone into the circle, and suddenly we were all dancing together!”
“I wore one wedding dress throughout the entire day. My husband wore a classic tux , and my girls wore dresses from Azazie,” says April. “I wasn’t picky about the style—I just wanted them to be long and let everyone choose what they felt comfortable in. I also gave my girls complete freedom with their hair and makeup. I wanted them to feel like themselves!”
“Put on some good music, crack open a bottle of wine and have fun with it,” says April about the planning process. “Zac and I made wedding planning an activity where we laughed, made memories and got to know each other even more.”
“Everything will fall into place. And if something doesn’t go as planned don’t let it ruin your day—your love is too beautiful. Everything else is just a detail.”
“Zac and I spent a week at the all-inclusive Sandals Halcyon in St. Lucia. We’re pretty low-key people and love to relax, so we spent our days pool hopping, hanging at the beach, getting a couples massage and enjoying the all-inclusive experience,” says April. “Our favorite night was a private candlelight dinner on the beach with our own waiter!”
