Backyard Wedding & Dinner Party Vibes This Wedding at The Kellogg Club & 1776 Morristown

The Kellogg Club and 1776 Morristown

When Megan and Jimmy set out to plan their wedding, they had one clear vision: it should feel like one big dinner party with all of their favorite people—joyful, warm, lively and centered around amazing food and music. With the help of planner Stacey Sainato of Peony Events, they found two Morristown venues that made it happen: The Kellogg Club, where Megan had the romantic backyard ceremony she’d always dreamed of, and 1776 Morristown, where the reception unfolded exactly as they’d imagined. Beautifully photographed by Allie Elizabeth Photo, their July 24, 2026 celebration was simple and personal throughout—black, white, and silver with soft white florals and greenery, and a dance floor that, by all accounts, never emptied.

Their Story

“Jimmy and I met in line at a bar during our senior year at Rutgers,” says Megan. “We dated for ten years and truly grew up together, navigating our twenties and so many of life’s milestones side by side. We’ve been there for so many versions of each other, and what started as a chance meeting became a decade of love, laughter, and building a life we love together.”

The Proposal

“Jimmy proposed at Barnegat Lighthouse on LBI, one of our favorite places, on a cold March afternoon. He put so much thought and love into every detail, and afterward we celebrated with dinner at our favorite restaurant. It made an already special place even more meaningful to us.”

Choosing the Venue

“With the help of our planner, Stacey Sainato, we found two venues that felt so us,” says Megan. “We wanted our wedding to feel like one big party where everyone could mingle, eat amazing food and celebrate all night. 1776 was perfect, while the Kellogg Club gave me the romantic backyard ceremony I’d always dreamed of in the Morristown we love and call home.”

Details of the Day

“We wanted the day to feel like an intimate backyard wedding and one big dinner party with all of our favorite people, joyful, romantic, warm and full of energy,” says Megan. “We kept the design simple with black, white and silver and soft white florals with greenery. The ceremony had a romantic summer-afternoon feeling, while the reception felt lively and centered around amazing food, music, and everyone being together. More than anything, we wanted the day to feel personal, welcoming and completely like us.”

Favorite Moment

“One of our favorite moments was the ceremony, reading our vows to each other in front of everyone we love was incredibly emotional and special. And then the party! The music was insane, the energy was amazing, and getting to dance and celebrate with all of our favorite people was unforgettable.”

Wedding Day Attire

“I wore a strapless satin ball gown with a structured bodice, full skirt, and cathedral-length lace-trimmed veil for the ceremony, then changed into a fitted lace dress for the party. Jimmy wore a classic black tuxedo with a bow tie and suspenders. Our bridesmaids wore black floor-length dresses, and the groomsmen wore black tuxedos.”

Advice For Other Couples

“Try not to get caught up in making every detail perfect,” says Megan. “Put your energy into things that matter most to you, surround yourself with vendors you trust, and let yourself enjoy the day. Be present, soak it all in, and remember what you’re there to celebrate, the two of you and getting to celebrate your love with the people who mean the most to you!”

Honeymoon

“We’re spending a week in Northern California in September for our honeymoon. We’re so excited to explore the coast, enjoy amazing food and wine, and have time to slow down and celebrate together after the wedding.”
