A Classic & Chic Spring Wedding With Manhattan Skyline Views at Liberty House

A Classic & Chic Spring Wedding With Manhattan Skyline Views at Liberty House

Liberty House

A self-described NYC girl who knew that nobody does a wedding like Jersey, Daniela found the perfect combination of both worlds at Liberty House in Jersey City. Beautifully photographed by Bri Johnson Weddings, their May 2, 2026 celebration was classic and chic from start to finish: a white and green palette, orchids, calla lilies, ranunculus and amaranthus, and centerpieces of hydrangeas and roses surrounded by the candlelight Daniela had always envisioned glowing against the skyline at night.

The Proposal

“We are huge food lovers and Zachary planned a surprise dinner at the Inn at Little Washington, a 3-star we had been eager to try for years, out in Virginia,” says Daniela. “I thought this was to celebrate the last day of my 10th year of teaching (or so I was told). Before dinner, we walked around the beautiful gardens behind the restaurant.”

Choosing the Venue

“The skyline at Liberty House in Jersey City sold me,” says Daniela. “I am such an NYC girl without a doubt but no one does a wedding like Jersey. It was a perfect combination! My best friend had just gone to a wedding there and was raving about it, which sealed the deal.”

Details of the Day

“Orchids, calla lilies, amaranthus and ranunculus were our flowers,” says Daniela. “The centerpieces had hydrangeas, roses, ranunculus and lots of greenery with tons of candles. I knew I wanted the candles against the skyline at night.”

The overall color palette was whites/greens. “I wanted it to be classic and chic as well as intentional. Drawings from my students, personal cards to each guest as our seating chart, signature cocktails with matchboxes and handwritten napkins and sticker machine are just some special details.

Wedding Day Attire

“I had no idea what I wanted in a wedding dress and kept trying on simpler and simpler gowns. I didn’t expect to pick something without embellishment, but it felt like me verses me pretending to be a bride, if that makes sense! I love the train.”

Advice For Other Couples

“The wedding website is important and we got a lot of compliments on the little flair that was in our voice. People will actually read your FAQs that way!”

“Don’t source too many opinions. If you are not detail-oriented (like I), this process is especially stressful.”

“We tried to make it fun by celebrating the six-month countdown.”

Honeymoon

The newlyweds spent six days in New Zealand, eight days in Australia, and four days in Hawaii on the way home.
