How did you meet?

We were connected through a one of my classmates in college!

When did you get engaged?

Where did you get engaged?

My living room

Maria-Ryan-EngagementHow did he ask?

We were about to leave to go to Orlando to go to Disney and Wrestlemania (he’s a big WWE fan). My mom was going to be driving us to the airport as it’s on her way to work. A few days before, he told me he got a black car for our transportation to the airport. I thought it was ridiculous, but he wouldn’t budge.

Maria-Ryan-EngagementThe day before, my mom suggested my parents and I go to breakfast the next morning. We eat home cooked meals everyday. We don’t even go out for breakfast on vacation! I knew something was up. We had just gotten back home from breakfast when Ryan said he was on his way home. He shows up in a white stretch limo! He walks into my house and all he said was, “I got a limo,” and started proposing! He also proposed in Italian which was very special to me. We were able to celebrate for 6 days by ourselves, except with my best friend who lives in Florida, and then came home for a little engagement dinner with our families!

Maria-Ryan-EngagementMy ring is a bit special as he customized it and began working with the jeweler (Julianna Jewelry in Woodbridge, NJ) on it about five months before he proposed. He wanted me to have something unique, so my center stone is a yellow cushion-cut diamond. He used details of my favorite Disney princess, Snow White’s, dress to design the ring. My engagement ring has a second band of diamonds, rubies, and sapphires to reflect the top of her dress and the yellow diamond reflects her skirt. The two rings are also engraved with “Adventure is out there,” a quote from his favorite Pixar movie, Up.

Maria-Ryan-EngagementWe took our engagement photos in the Count Basie Theatre, which is where we had our first date! We also took some photos in Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash, his favorite comic shop.
