12/12/18, Adam had teamed up with my friend to have me leave the house to get my nails done. I knew it was coming but had no clue what I was coming home to that night. It was a Wednesday night so I figured it may be over the weekend. While I was gone, he covered the downstairs of our home with rose petals and candles. He was waiting for me when I walked through the door.Veronica and Adam at Sherwood Chalet at Forest Lodge

Our colors were ivory and soft pinks. Since our wedding was changed from indoors to outdoors, I changed the focus of the decorations/theme to more rustic. Most of the decorations were made by me (with Adams help of course): signs, table numbers, guest book, cake topper, mason jar tissue and hand sanitizer jars and wood cookies we used as our centerpieces. We gave hand sanitizer favors which we adding essential oils to, bottled and labeled ourselves.Veronica and Adam at Sherwood Chalet at Forest Lodge

We wanted to be able to have our first look, ceremony and reception all in one location. We liked that it was a stand-alone venue and they typically only have one event per day. We were also looking for a smaller more intimate setting for our wedding reception, and the Sherwood Chalet would have been perfect for that! Due to Covid-19, our reception was held outdoors which ended up being more perfect than I could have ever imagined.Veronica and Adam at Sherwood Chalet at Forest Lodge

We had a stations style menu which included pasta, salad, a carving station and chafing dishes. Our cake was a naked chocolate cake, with vanilla filling and icing. We had s’mores and donuts as well.Veronica and Adam at Sherwood Chalet at Forest Lodge

I wore an A-Line Maggie Soretto gown. I loved the nude undertone of the dress and the beautiful lace details. I picked my gown pretty quickly. I had done a lot of research and had an idea of what I wanted before I went. I tried on a few different styles and actually went with something different than originally planned. The second I saw myself in that gown my face lit up, I felt like a bride- it was the one.Veronica and Adam at Sherwood Chalet at Forest Lodge

The entire day! When I look at the pictures, I think the best part of my day was right after our first kiss and we were pronounced husband and wife. It was at that moment that all of my nerves just faded away. I had the love of my life by my side and then it was time to celebrate that with family and friends.Veronica and Adam at Sherwood Chalet at Forest Lodge

Our photographer! I truly believe there wasn’t a better person we could have shared our day with, and that goes beyond how perfect the pictures are. Our chemistry and trust with Daniel and his team was something no one else on the planet could match.Veronica and Adam at Sherwood Chalet at Forest Lodge

A few things, but that’s to be expected. Nothing that made the day any less perfect. We had a couple of people crash the wedding, but a few didn’t show, so it all works out in the end.Veronica and Adam at Sherwood Chalet at Forest Lodge

Enjoy every moment! It really goes by so fast and it truly will be the best day of your life. Don’t stress over all those little details. Focus on the love and happiness. This day is all about you and the person you love, nothing else matters. Consider alternative shoes if you are going for a first look and pictures before the ceremony, I don’t wear heels so I wish I hadn’t exhausted my feet during that time.
