How did you meet?
Louie and I met while working together. We both had mutual friends, so we knew of each other before that, but we didn’t start to talk and see each other until we started working together.

How did you get engaged?
Louie surprised me while we were at Longwood Gardens for their Christmas display. Longwood Gardens was our first date! He even had his sister come to surprise us with pictures during our engagement.

Details of the day!
Since our wedding was originally in November, our color scheme was plum purple and greenery, however, we added whites and pinks after we postponed to a spring wedding. We didn’t really have a theme but included some wine things such as lighted wine bottles on the tables as part of the centerpieces and heart-shaped wine stoppers. I’m a big fan of greenery, so a lot of our floral decor included that- our sweetheart and fireplace garlands were all greenery, and our florists tied in some on our arch display flowers. My favorite flowers are peonies and our florist surprised me by including them in my bridal bouquet. Originally our florist let me know that it may not be possible to get peonies in due to the flower shortages because of Covid.

Why did you choose your venue?
Tavistock Country Club was only the second venue that we visited and we knew it was our venue after the first meeting. The staff there are very responsive and there to assist in any way they can. The food is outstanding and the views of the golf course are amazing as well.

What was on your menu?
During cocktail hour we had a lot of butlered hors d’oeuvres including scallops wrapped in bacon, BLT tartlets, ahi tuna, mozzarella skewers, and sushi. Our first course was a creamy lobster bisque soup followed by the second course of a Caprese salad over arugula. In between courses we were given lemon sorbet. For dinner, the choices were: filet with a lobster tail stuffed with crab meat, salmon topped with crab meat, rack of lamb, French chicken, or a veggie lasagna. The accompanying sides were mashed potatoes and asparagus with tomatoes. Our cake flavor was pound cake with buttercream frosting.

All about your gown!
Martina Liana #1137 This dress was one of the dresses that I felt so-so about from looking at pictures online. Going to my dress appointment I knew I wanted a dress with sleeves (thank goodness I didn’t since we postponed our November wedding to May and it was pretty warm). My consult Kye at Bridal Garden pulled at least 10 dresses for me to try, including #1137. As soon as I put it on I knew it was the one by how my MOH and mom reacted. It complimented my body type so well and the train is simply stunning.

What was your favorite moment?
It’s hard to just choose one favorite moment, but if I had to it was the moment right before I started to walk down the aisle with my father. Seeing everyone there, knowing they were there to witness our love and marriage was over overwhelming- hence me bawling as I walked down.

Did anything go wrong?
I wouldn’t say anything went wrong, as I believe it all worked out how it was supposed to. If I had to choose anything (besides the obvious postponing due to Covid), I would say it would be my dress strap snapping off in the back just moments before I walked down the aisle. No one could really tell and surprisingly I was okay with it (after many reassurances from our planners that they’d sew it back if it got worse). I’m happy that we were able to get most of our portraits and pictures done before the ceremony with it still attached.

Any advice for future brides?
Enjoy every moment and stay present. I made sure to tuck my phone away the entire night to make sure I could be focused on everything around me. Even if things go wrong, in the grand scheme of things, you will remember being surrounded by an immense amount of love more than anything.

Honeymoon Location?
We decided to hold off our honeymoon for now (thanks Covid)
