When Caitlin and Andrew started planning their summer wedding, the vision was clear: bright, happy, and entirely theirs. Their June 28, 2025 celebration at The Inn At Millrace Pond in Hope brought that same warm energy. Caitlin filled the historic barn-style venue with green, white, and yellow blooms inspired by her bridesmaids’ Hill House flower dresses, sent guests home with mini jars of honey, and danced the night away in a lace gown from Enelda’s Happy Brides while Andrew kept cool in a custom linen Tom James suit. But the moment that made it feel like a movie? Near the end of the night, the DJ dropped “Take On Me” — and the couple spun together in the center of the dance floor, surrounded by everyone they love, cheering them on.
Their Story
“Andrew and I met via Hinge in 2018. We decided to meet up at the Met Breuer for our first date and it was instant chemistry,” says Caitlin. “The art exhibit led to dinner at Ramen Ya, followed by a cozy cup of apple cider at Veselka and before we knew it, 7 hours had gone by and as they say the rest is history. We have been inseparable ever since.”
The Proposal
“An ode to meeting in the Fall, Andrew planned the perfect October engagement in my childhood backyard. The day begin with a fun hike to peep the autumn leaves. I was suspicious but after it didn’t happen on the hike I was thrown off the scent. Until in the afternoon, I saw Andrew on my backyard dock, surrounded by photos of us and down on one knee”
Choosing the Venue
“The Inn At Millrace Pond stood out because of its beautiful charm and historical atmosphere. We also loved that our family and wedding party could stay onsite for the whole wedding weekend. It was so fun to have this small village to ourselves to celebrate the entire weekend. It was the perfect weekend in the perfect place. The Staff at the Inn is like no other,” says Caitlin.

Details of the Day
The theme of the wedding was a summer garden party. “I wanted to fill the space with green, white and yellow flowers so it felt bright and happy. The natural wood featured throughout the Inn and bright white barn style reception room meshed perfectly with my vision.”
“Our favors were mini jars of honey, I wanted guests to leave guests with a sweet and summery feeling.”
Favorite Moment
“My favorite moment of the day was near the end of the evening when Andrew and I were dancing with everybody. The DJ played ‘Take On Me’ by Ah-Ha and we held hands and spun in the middle of the dance floor surrounded by everybody cheering us on. It felt like I was in a movie or a music video.”
Wedding Day Attire
“I wore a beautiful lace gown from Enelda’s Happy Brides. My husband wore a custom linen suit from Tom James which was the perfect choice for the hot June day. My bridesmaids wore yellow flower dresses from Hill House which was such a fun choice and inspired my florals,” says Caitlin.
Advice For Other Couples
“My biggest piece of advice is to remember at the end of the day its your wedding and its about you as a couple. I had the most fun planning when I began to incorporate my personality into the details of the wedding.”
“ALSO (practical advice) be careful with your garment bag zippers so they don’t snag your dress and veil.”
Honeymoon
“We went to Japan for two weeks! We visited Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara and Hakone. Highlights included a trip to Ghibli Park (we’re big Totoro fans), a stay at an authentic Ryokan, feeding the deer in Nara and eating our weight in ramen and sushi. We had the best time exploring the cities and visiting the beautiful shrines all around Japan.”
