Maddy Cretella, Whose Family Owns By Landmark, Holds An Elaborate Wedding at Elkins Estate
Maddy and Anthony tied the knot on August 21, 2025 at Elkins Estate.
Their Story
After matching on Bumble in May 2019, Maddy Cretella and Anthony Ramirez’s first date was unforgettable.
What was meant to be a simple Saturday night out became an adventure across three NYC boroughs. They started with dinner at Antique Garage in SoHo, continued with cocktails nearby and crossed into Brooklyn for a late-night slice at Artichoke before heading back to Staten Island.
After a few months of dating, Tony was given an opportunity to move to Los Angeles. Although heartbroken, Maddy encouraged him to go.
Then, Covid-19 shifted plans, and the move never came to be. Time passed, and in March 2023, the two reconnected and everything fell into place.
The Proposal
Maddy, who is the executive director of brands and engagement for By Landmark, the hospitality company her parents founded in 2001, didn’t see Tony’s clever proposal coming.
On August 21, 2024, Tony, who works in finance and is penning a novel, popped the question. A family friend—Steven Fulop, the former mayor of Jersey City—asked Maddy to join him at an event at a By Landmark venue, Hudson House.
When she arrived, she found Tony waiting on one knee. “It was pure magic,” she says.
Making it Official
One year later, on August 21, 2025, they exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony at Saint Patrick Church in Jersey City.
Maddy wore a re-creation of her mother’s wedding dress, also incorporating lace from her grandmother’s gown. Her mother stood by her side as maid of honor; Tony’s brother Chris served as best man.
After, the newlyweds and their immediate family celebrated on their boat on the Hudson River. They had their reception one month later at Elkins Estate in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania.
Choosing the Venue
“What’s not to love about a Gilded Age mansion?” says Maddy. “For us, Elkins Estate was more than a venue. It felt like our own private world.”
Details of the Day
For their 220-guest wedding on September 27, 2025, Maddy and Tony leaned into the timeless elegance of the venue.
The color palette featured touches of gold and all-white florals. “Every detail,” says Maddy, “was designed to feel classic and sophisticated.”
Favorite Moment
Their favorite moment was “hands down the dance floor,” says Maddy. “It felt less like a wedding and more like a private concert with energy and joy radiating from every guest.”
Wedding Day Attire
At Elkins Estate, Tony looked dashing in a custom white tuxedo. The bridesmaids stunned in jewel-toned green gowns. Maddy’s dream dress was a Maison Signore creation, which she paired with Jimmy Choo heels. Later, she changed into a short sparkly dress.
Full Circle Experience
“Having grown up surrounded by weddings, I’ve always loved seeing the magic firsthand,” says Maddy. “As a little girl, it felt like stepping into a real-life fairy tale.”
Experiencing it from the other side, as a bride, she says, “was absolutely incredible. I can’t even put into words how special I felt.”
Honeymoon
The Ramirezes spent two weeks in Italy. “It was the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation—a honeymoon to remember forever,” says Maddy.
