He Asked for Her Mom’s Blessing After a Bruce Springsteen Concert—Then They Danced to ‘Jersey Girl’ at The Merion

When Brianna and Billy chose The Merion in Cinnaminson for their March 28, 2026 wedding, they were drawn in by the grand staircase, the Palace Room, and the outdoor patio—but the details they wove into the celebration were entirely their own. Photographed and filmed by Duca Studio, their spring wedding was a love letter to everything that makes them them: juniper green for the wedding party in honor of Brianna’s Irish heritage and Billy’s Eagles devotion, a giant Eagles ice sculpture, a rugby cake topper nodding to how they met at a TCNJ Rugby party, and a DIY vinyl record seating chart and record table numbers celebrating their shared love of classic rock. Then came the first dance to”Jersey Girl” by Bruce Springsteen, chosen because they got engaged in Asbury Park, because they love Bruce, and because Billy had asked Brianna’s mom for her blessing after a Springsteen concert.

Their Story

Billy and Brianna first met at a TCNJ Rugby party, where Billy was in need of a pong partner and Brianna happened to be nearby. After winning their first two games together, they began talking and getting to know one another. They stayed in touch over the summer, officially started dating in September 2017, and haven’t looked back since.

The Proposal

On March 1st, 2025, Billy proposed to Brianna in her happy place—on the beach in Asbury Park—surrounded by their closest friends and family. “We have a heart shaped lock on the fence in Asbury Park,” says Brianna.

Choosing the Venue

“We picked this venue, The Merion, because it was beautiful. We loved the grand staircase, and we loved the palace room with the outdoor patio.”

Details of the Day

“We choose juniper green for the colors, because it was a March wedding. I am also half-Irish and Billy loves the Eagles. We had an Eagles Ice sculpture.”

“We picked green and blue flowers to compliment the dresses. I had gold accents, for the mirrors, and the memory table. Since rugby is part of our story, we had a rugby cake topper. We also had a records theme for the seating chart because of our love of classic rock. I DIY’d the seating chart, and record table numbers,” says Brianna.

Favorite Moment

“We danced to ‘Jersey Girl’ by Bruce Springsteen, which we picked because we got engaged in Asbury Park, and love Bruce Springsteen. Plus, Billy asked my mom for her blessing after a Bruce Springsteen concert we all went to together.”

Wedding Day Attire

“I wore a dress from Bridal Garden, and my mom and step-mom also got their dresses there too. Our groomsmen and dads wore charcoal grey suits from Men’s Wearhouse. My bridesmaids wore juniper green dresses from David’s Bridal.”

Advice For Other Couples

“Have the groom involved as much as possible. Keep them invested in the day.”

Honeymoon

“We went on a mini-moon to Vero Beach, Florida for five days and Disney on the last day. We plan on taking a honeymoon over the summer.”
