A Rustic Fall Wedding Full of Charm and Candlelight at the Barn at Perona Farms

Perona Farms: The Barn, The Refinery & The Reserve

When Julianna and Jared began searching for their perfect New Jersey wedding venue, they knew it the moment they walked into the Barn at Perona Farms in Andover. With its natural warmth, rustic elegance, and exceptional staff, the venue set the stage for their October 26, 2025 celebration—a fall-inspired affair featuring candlelit wood tables draped in lace, ceremony decor of pumpkins and real autumn leaves, and a stunning bridal party in shades of burnt orange, burgundy, and deep wine. From their private first look to a menu that left guests talking long after the last dance, their wedding day was, in their own words, one with no regrets. Marquee Studio captured all the sweet moments.

Their Story

“Our love story began in 2015, and it’s been a whirlwind of love and laughter ever since,” says Julianna. “It is said that when you have a soulmate from the minute you both are born and there is an invisible string between you both. There are knots and tangles, however when the time is right for you both, you meet your soulmate and it is a clear, straight line.”

“Ironically, we both were in the high school together for two years without crossing paths. I decided to switch out of one elective and transferred to a more ‘interesting’ one, forensics, at the beginning of my junior year,” says Julianna. “Little did I realize that switching my elective put me in the direction of meeting my soulmate.”

“Since our first date, we have been through everything beautiful and more… the invisible string of their love was always linear, a clear, straight line.”

The Proposal

Jared proposed to Julianna at an incredibly special place, where she has spent so many beautiful summers at.

As the sun set on July 5, 2024, at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia, Jared dropped to one knee and popped the big question.

The sky turned into a masterpiece of vibrant oranges, yellows, and pinks, while the waves serenaded the rocks in a harmonious rhythm. The air wrapped around them with a cozy warmth. It was a picture-perfect proposal scene straight out of a rom-com!

Choosing the Venue

“My husband and I were absolutely enchanted by our wedding at the Barn at Perona Farms,” says Juliana. “We even wished we could be guests at our own celebration—it was that great!”

“It was undeniably the most beautiful day of our lives, leaving us with no regrets. From start to finish, working with Ivette was a delight; her exceptional communication and attentiveness to our inquiries throughout the planning process were greatly appreciated.”

“As soon as we laid eyes on the Barn, we knew it was the perfect venue for our wedding. It offered much more than just a location; its natural charm and elegance captivated us, and we were truly impressed by the remarkable day-of team that orchestrated our perfect day.”

“We could not have asked for a more perfect day, and we now cherish the beautiful memories created at a venue where we felt truly at home. Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Perona Farms; we look forward to attending a wedding there in the future!”

Details of the Day

We were looking for a Fall/rustic themed vibe with class, elegance and a touch of glam. Perona Farms already had such gorgeous charm in the Barn, and we actually loved the Barn more when we discovered that they had long wood tables for the reception compared to the traditional circle tables covered in a table cloth! To add our own twist on the already beautiful elegance of Perona Farms Tables, we added a lace runner so that we could still see the gorgeous wood underneath, followed by many types of candles, gourds, pumpkins, fall leaves and pinecones! So to answer this question, we could not live without many many candles!!!!

Our sweetheart table was enhanced by a mix of pumpkins, candles, rustic crates, a lace table cloth and a white love seat (from Perona Farms) for extra comfort and glam!

Our menu choices were difficult to pick as ALL of the food at Perona Farms is delicious. We ended up going with a starter of a Maine lobster tail, a refreshing fall salad, a duo of braised short rib with red seared snapper with horseradish mashed potato and parsnips!! Our guests still rave about the food!

Our ceremony arch was decorated with rustic crates, pumpkins, lanterns and fall florals; the aisle had real fall leaves instead of pedals!

Our signature drinks were named after our corgis, Rhea and Silas!

A special acknowledgment goes to Anna, who incredibly transformed our wedding plans from paper into a stunning reality. We never could have imagined that our ceremony, cocktail hour, sweetheart table, and reception decor would turn out as beautifully as it did!

Throughout the day, we felt well cared for in our getting-ready suites, thanks to Kathy, which instilled a sense of peace as we approached the ceremony. During the reception, Kelly was incredibly attentive, ensuring we always had drinks and food at hand. Our guests raved about the exceptional food/drink and service during both the cocktail hour and reception, and they continue to discuss the experience even now.

Favorite Moment

“Our favorite moment from the whole wedding day was our first look prior to the ceremony,” says Julianna. “It could not have been a more beautiful and special moment between the two of us in private and we were so happy we did a first look as we would have been crying so much more during the ceremony.”

“Seeing each other for the first time just before being pronounced ‘husband and wife’ is a forever memory captured not only in our photos, but in our hearts.”

Wedding Day Attire

“I wore a gorgeous wedding gown from Seng Couture (Rebecca Ingram-Virginia), followed by a long, dramatic cathedral veil custom made from Etsy!” says Julianna.

“My husband wore a stunning hunter green suit with a brown bow-tie from Generation Tux. Our bridesmaids wore an array of fall colors from Azazie, including a mix of colors from burnt orange, rust, burgundy, mulberry and deep wine reds! Our groomsmen wore suits from Generation Tux including a tan cream colored suit with a hunter green bowtie to match!”

Advice For Other Couples

“A wedding is one day, a marriage is for a lifetime—make your wedding day 100% authentically you!”

Honeymoon

The newlyweds will honeymoon in Greece and Italy for two weeks. “We are both foodies and love to travel and could not be more excited!”
