It Started With Blue Hydrangeas & Turned into a Something Blue-Themed Wedding at Hamilton Farm Golf Club
When Brianna and Alex chose Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone for their June 13, 2026 wedding, they were drawn in immediately after one tour, no looking back. Their celebration was cohesive and deeply personal throughout: blue and white hydrangeas shaped the entire aesthetic, from blue bridesmaid Amsale gowns sourced from Elizabeth Johns Bridal Couture to blue napkins, invites and stationery—an accidental Something Blue theme that carried through every corner of the day. Their dog Reese, who had delivered the proposal bandana just over a year earlier, was woven into the celebration in meaningful ways throughout. And in a nod to Alex’s Italian heritage, the couple incorporated Saint Anthony’s Feast Day—which fell on their wedding date—honoring his family with a statue, white lilies, blessed bread and photos of loved ones no longer here. Then, during the reception, something no one could have planned: the New York Knicks won the NBA Championship. A Jalen Brunson jersey appeared, a photo was snapped, and the party got significantly louder. Their day was captured by Peach Photography.
Their Story
“We were both attending different colleges, and I came to work at the summer camp he had been working at for a few years,” says Bri. “My now husband and I were both counselors for the same division and we totally hit it off. That was almost eight years ago now!”
The Proposal
“We had just gotten our dog, Reese, and had her for about a week. I was in the bedroom of our condo and Alex said ‘Reese wants to show you something!'” explains Bri. “She came running in with a bandana that read ‘Will you marry my daddy?’ and behind her was Alex with the ring.”
“So special, simple, and intimate, just how I wanted.”
Choosing the Venue
“We originally wanted to have the reception at my in-laws country club, Rockaway River, but they wouldn’t have been able to accommodate all our guests,” says Bri. “My now father-in-law suggested we go tour Hamilton Farm Golf Club since he knew we were looking for a country club vibe. We went and absolutely fell in love with it and we were one and done!”
Details of the Day
“Picking blue and white hydrangeas as the flowers helped to shape the entire wedding theme,” says Bri. “That meant blue bridesmaids dresses, blue invites, blue napkins, blue and white decor and blue stationary. All the guests loved how cohesive everything was and it also became our Something Blue without even trying!”
“We also had our dog, Reese, featured heavily throughout the day. She is our whole world and it was so special to feel like she was there with us in little subtle ways!”
There was one special detail of the wedding day that was beyond what anyone could have planned. During the reception, the New York Knicks won the NBA Championship against the San Antonio Spurs. Luckily, the couple had a Jalen Brunson jersey on hand and snapped a celebratory photo and video.
Special Family Details
“My husband’s family is very Italian (their last name is Sansano) and we coincidentally got married on Saint Anthony’s Feast Day, which is a big deal in the Italian culture but especially for his family,” says Bri. “We were able to borrow the family’s Saint Anthony’s statue and put some photos of family members who loved to celebrate him but are no longer with us surrounding it along with white lilies, which are the flower associated with him, and we gave everyone bread, a tradition on the feast day, and had it blessed by one of the priests who officiated our wedding during the reception. It was so special to be able to honor my new family in this way, especially everyone who isn’t with us anymore.”
“We also had a ton of family wedding photos on the fireplace mantle in the mansion. Almost everyone in those pictures is no longer with us, but it was so special to feel like they were. All the different dresses and time periods, it was so special to have it all together in one place.”
Favorite Moment
“Putting the rings on each other’s fingers and saying the vows was the most special thing in the whole world!” says Bri. “The ceremony felt so intimate even though there was a whole church full of our family and friends. Alex and I both grew up attending Catholic school so getting married in a church was very important to both of us.”
Wedding Day Attire
“I wore Lihi Hod from Elizabeth Johns Bridal Couture in Morristown that I fell in love with immediately!” says Bri. “My bridesmaids wore Amsale from Elizabeth Johns as well. I knew I wanted them to all be in the same color and fabric but I wanted all the girls to pick out their own styles.”
All the men were in navy suits from Prima Tuxedos in Madison. The groomsmen were in blue ties and Alex had a blue paisley tie.
Advice For Other Couples
“I know everyone thinks the bride plans everything and the groom isn’t supposed to have an opinion, but doing it together was the best part of wedding planning for us!” says Bri. “My husband wanted to be really involved and he had great opinions and ideas and I welcomed them happily. It is his wedding day too and planning it as a team made it so special!”
Honeymoon
“We wanted some time after the wedding to decompress and enjoy the summer,” says Bri. “We plan to go on our mini-moon in the fall when the leaves are changing to Vermont and Maine and bring our dog.”
“Then our big honeymoon will be to Italy next summer. We wanted a lot of time to plan that since we have both never left the country and we want to do it right!”
