A Fake First Look, Coffee and Donuts at Midnight & a Christmas Dream at Park Chateau Estate
When Jessica and Mark chose Park Chateau Estate & Gardens in East Brunswick for their December 19, 2025 wedding, they were sold the moment they walked through the doors—first by the breathtaking grounds and architecture, then by the warmth of every single person they met. Beautifully photographed by Michael Romeo Creations, their celebration was timeless and festive: a black, gold and ivory palette, candlelit atmosphere, soft holiday touches throughout, and late-night coffee and donuts sent home with every guest.
Their Story
“Some love stories start with grand gestures. Ours started at work… and a little bit of fate quietly doing its thing,” says Jessica. “When Mark and I first met through our jobs, I had no idea I was meeting the man I would marry. What started as simple conversations slowly turned into inside jokes, easy laughter, and that unexplainable comfort you feel when someone just fits into your world. Being around him felt natural from the very beginning — like we’d known each other longer than we had.”
“As we spent more time together, we discovered something that became a big part of our bond—our love for soccer. Whether we’re playing, watching, or just bringing that same team spirit into life, it reflects our relationship perfectly. We cheer each other on, push each other to be better, and no matter what, we’re always on the same team.”
“We also share a love for taking vacations together. Traveling with Mark is one of my favorite things—exploring new places, getting away from the busy world, and making memories”
The Proposal
“About a month before my birthday, Mark asked me to go to dinner at a fancy restaurant, and I didn’t think too much of it — just that we were dressing up and having a nice night out together,” says Jessica. “The day itself was rainy, gray and honestly kind of gross, so an engagement was the last thing on my mind. I remember thinking it was just one of those cozy, low-key evenings.”
“But somehow, like something out of a movie, the weather started to shift. After dinner, the rain stopped and the sun slowly came out, lighting everything up. We decided to take a walk along the Weehawken Pier, and that’s when the night turned into the moment I’ll never forget. With the skyline behind us and the sun breaking through the clouds, Mark got down on one knee and asked me to marry him—completely surprising me and making the most ordinary, gloomy day turn into the most beautiful day of my life.”
Choosing the Venue
“From the second we walked into Park Chateau Estate & Gardens, we just knew. The property is breathtaking—the elegance of the outside grounds, the gardens, and the architecture instantly felt like something out of a dream. Then we stepped inside, and it was the same feeling all over again. Every room was stunning, warm, and welcoming—it didn’t just look beautiful, it felt special.”
“But what truly made it our place wasn’t only how gorgeous everything was—it was the people. Right away, we felt like family. Every single person we met was kind, attentive, and genuinely excited for us. No question ever felt too small, and someone was always ready to help with a smile. The staff is truly the best of the best, and that level of care meant everything to us.”
“We didn’t just choose a venue—we chose a place where we felt supported, celebrated, and completely taken care of. And that’s exactly how we want to start our marriage. They treat you like royalty.”
Details of the Day
“We dreamed of a wedding that felt timeless, elegant, and a little magical—so a black, gold, and ivory Christmas-inspired palette was perfect for us,” says Jessica. “We loved the idea of classic black-tie style and sophisticated details, mixed with the romance of the holiday season. The deep black brought the drama, the gold added warmth and glow, and the ivory softened everything into that dreamy, candlelit feel. But as much as we love elegance, we also wanted our wedding to feel warm and cozy—just like winter should. With the brisk December air outside, we leaned into those comforting, inviting touches that make everyone feel at home. Soft lighting, warm tones, and an atmosphere that felt intimate and festive were just as important to us as the formal details.”
“And of course, we had to end the night in a way that felt like us. As guests headed home, we sent everyone off with coffee and donuts for the ride—a little late-night comfort, a sweet treat, and the perfect cozy ending.”
Favorite Moment
“My favorite moment of the entire day was our first look,” says Jessica. “All morning, I felt nervous—not bad nervous, just that emotional, butterflies-everywhere kind of feeling. I kept thinking something felt missing, like I couldn’t fully relax or settle into the moment. But of course…we couldn’t just do a normal first look. We had to add a little surprise.”
“Before I came out, Mark turned around expecting to see me…and instead, his brother was standing there in a dress for a fake first look. The reactions, the confusion, the laughter — it broke the tension instantly and was so us. It turned the nerves into pure joy.”
“Then it was really my turn. When Mark finally saw me, everything shifted. We were both emotional, and in that moment, the nerves disappeared. I realized nothing had been missing all morning—I just hadn’t seen him yet. Seeing him all dressed up, waiting for me, made everything feel complete. The second our eyes met, it felt calm because we were finally together.”
Wedding Day Attire
“For my ceremony look, I wore a stunning gown by Blanche Bridal, which I purchased and had altered at Castle Couture. From the moment I put it on, it felt like the dress—timeless, elegant, and everything I had imagined walking down the aisle in. For my second look, I changed into a gorgeous bridal romper by Eva Lendel that was absolutely stunning. It was the perfect mix of chic, modern, and fun—made for dancing, celebrating, and soaking in every second of the night.”
“To complete my look, I wore classic heels from Jimmy Choo—elegant, iconic, and the perfect bridal touch. Mark looked just as incredible. He wore a custom suit from The Clothing Center, and from start to finish, Vlad made the entire experience seamless. Every detail was tailored perfectly, and he truly brought Mark’s look to life. Classic, sharp, and timeless. He paired both of his looks with statement shoes from Christian Louboutin, adding that bold, polished finish that pulled everything together perfectly.”
Advice For Other Couples
“The biggest piece of advice we can give is simple: plan your wedding for you two. It’s easy to get caught up in other people’s opinions, expectations, or traditions, but at the end of the day, this is your love story. Choose what feels right, what represents you as a couple, and what will make you happiest when you look back on it years from now.”
“Don’t let outside voices change your vision. The day is about the two of you and the life you’re starting together—and that’s what truly matters.”
Also, be present. Soak it in. The day goes by faster than you can imagine, and the moments you’ll cherish most are the ones you fully felt. Take mental pictures, pause to look around the room, and hold onto the feeling—because it’s a once-in-a-lifetime kind of magic.”
Honeymoon
“We’re heading to Europe in August 2026 for our honeymoon, and we could not be more excited. We’ll be traveling along the beautiful Amalfi Coast before making our way to Greece—a trip we’ve been dreaming about as the perfect way to celebrate this new chapter.”
“Even though we’re waiting a little after the wedding, that just makes it even more special. It will be an incredible three weeks away, just the two of us, exploring, relaxing, and truly soaking in time together after all the excitement. No schedules, no planning—just memories, views, and being side by side in some of the most beautiful places in the world.”
