For Texas cake baker Nikki Jackson of Absolutely Edible Cakes in Rowlett, when it came time to make a cake for her daughter’s wedding, it was time to go big or go home—she’s from Texas y’all! But you have to see what she created: a seven-foot-tall crystal cake chandelier that actually hung from the ceiling!
“I had other industry friends that were like, ‘I’ll do the cake and I won’t charge you,’ but I am such a control freak,” Jackson told Yahoo Style about her daughter Toddreana’s October 8 wedding to Anttwon Thames in Garland, Texas. “So I did her cake and all the food for the wedding. I could not let it go.”
And Jackson is no stranger to unique wedding cakes. She previously created a life-size, five-foot-tall replica of another bride in Texas back in 2008!
Crazy right?! This year’s chandelier cake was made with real crystals and could feed 600, even though only 400 were invited to the wedding. It cost about $4,500. Now that’s a Texas-sized cake—and let us know if you spot anything like it in New Jersey!!
