Michelle and Ryan got married on October 18, 2025 at Lake Mohawk Country Club. Getting married lakeside with the fall foliage in the background is chef’s kiss. Michelle and Ryan’s photos, by Dean Michaels Studio, show NJ’s beauty in autumn and these chose to play up those yellow and orange colors in the bridesmaids dresses, which tied the whole color palette together. Then, they headed inside for their reception where it was cozy-meets-rustic with wooden beams and string lights—so romantic!

Their Story

“Ryan and I first met in high school and were good friends,” says Michelle. “Later in life we reunited with some hometown friends and began hanging out again. Ryan asked me out a few times and I eventually said ‘yes.'”

The Proposal

“I went to college at FIT in NYC and lived there from 2009-2021,” says Michelle. “Ryan would make the trip to visit when we first started dating before moving back to PA where we currently live together.”

“Ryan proposed in Central Park,” she says. “It was a dream and the most perfect location. So fitting for us.”

Choosing the Venue

“I always wanted to get married on a lake and Ryan is a HUGE foodie. Knowing that NJ loves a huge cocktail hour, it just made perfect sense for Lake Mohawk Country Club to be our venue,” says Michelle. “Also, the amazing staff made us so comfortable and the choice so easy.”

Details of the Day

“We got married in October. Fall is my favorite season,” says Michelle. “Having the beautiful fall-colored trees in the background all around the lake was amazing.”

“We also chose gold accents and sage greens for the tables and flowers/greens—simple but classy.”

“The menu was all different types of foods for cocktail hour. We love to travel and try foods from different countries so it was important we incorporated that in cocktail hour.”

For the receptions/main dinner, guests had a choice of filet, chicken, seafood risotto or a portobello mushrooms veggie dish.

Favorite Moment

“My family does what we call an ‘initiation into the family’ dance floor moment to the song ‘Shout.’ If you are familiar with the movie ‘Animal House’ there is a moment where everyone is dancing to ‘Shout’ and then John Belushi’s character screams ‘TURTLE’ and everyone falls to their backs and wiggles their arms and legs in the air.”

“My dad and my Uncle Chris lead it and everyone surrounds the groom. It is so fun and funny and a big moment for our family at every wedding,” says Michelle. “Ryan loved it and it was perfect!”

Wedding Day Attire

Ryan and the groomsmen wore classic black suits. The groomsmen had taupe colored pocket squares while Ryan’s was white.

“My dress was a long sleeve, off-the-shoulder full white lace gown from Grace Loves Lace. The bridesmaids were in different style dresses in burnt oranges, auburns and coppers.”

Advice For Other Couples

“Make sure you like/trust the people at the venue you are choosing. I cannot explain how great the team at Lake Mohawk Country Club was.”

“Being able to trust them made the whole process way smoother and less stressful. On the big day, I felt so calm knowing everything was in great hands.”

Honeymoon

The newlyweds went to Spain for 10 days. They spent time in Barcelona, Malaga and San Sebastian.

“We ate amazing food and drank amazing wine. We went on a crazy cool hike in Malaga and stayed at a beautiful Michelin hotel in San Sebastian overlooking the iconic bay. Cannot recommend Spain more!”
