Matt & Nicole
Nicole and Matt got married on September 28, 2024 at The Molly Pitcher Inn.
Their Story
“Matt and I met on the first day of freshman year at Towson University in Maryland. We were assigned to the same down on the top floor, floor 13. We quickly became best friends,” says Nicole.
“Me, my twin sister, and Matt’s roommate were inseparable for the next four years. I quickly knew that this boy was going to be in my life forever.”

“After years of having the biggest secret crushes, we finally went on our first date Junior year and have been together ever since. We moved to Hoboken after college and have loved growing into adulthood together.”
The Proposal
“Matt proposed on the Hoboken waterfront in September 2023 on a bright, sunny afternoon.”

“He asked my sister’s to photograph and it was a small intimate moment between us. After the proposal, we went out to dinner and soaked it all in. I loved being at home and relaxed so that I could fully enjoy and take in being newly engaged!”
Choosing the Venue
“The Molly Pitcher Inn is so timeless and elegant. We knew the second walking onto the promenade that it would make the perfect venue.”
“Matt grew up in Middletown and we knew a venue close to home would make the entire day feel effortless. The Molly Pitcher’s vintage elegance, paired with its coastal vibe made the perfect backdrop for our day, hardly needing decor, it felt perfect and cozy the way it already is.”

“When meeting with the planners at The Molly Pitcher, we realized how amazing and helpful the entire staff is. Throughout the entire process from the first phone call to our wedding day, our coordinator Lauren was the best to work with, not only helping me bring my vision to life but also becoming a friend.”
“Lastly, the food is absolutely amazing. We heard from so many of our guests that our cocktail hour and dinner was the best they have ever had at a wedding. I’m biased, but I totally agree!”

Details of the Day
“Our goal was to create a comfortable atmosphere that had a timeless vintage and coastal touch. I wanted everything to have my touch to it, nothing super trendy, so I ended up doing most of the details and decor myself.”
“The venue has so much charm, so I kept my florals neutral with crisp white hydrangeas, wildflowers and touches of green.”
“My bridesmaids all chose their own dresses in shade of yellow, green and blue to match the coastal vibe.”

“My dad hand built our ceremony altar wooden flower stands and our welcome sign, which is one of my favorite touches. I sourced wicker baskets for the altar and the aisle for our florist to add her arrangements to. I built our seating chart and signage for around cocktail hour, and lastly made our menus, napkins, and invitation suite with the help of Etsy and Canva.”
“I also created custom matchbooks for guests to grab during cocktail hour. I wanted everything to have that timeless, vintage coastal touch, with pops of color.”

Favorite Moment
“This is incredibly hard because the entire day was amazing.”
“My favorite moment was reading our private vows. We both wrote really long private vows and decided to grab Rook and go back to the bridal suite that morning to read them to each other. I was so happy to get all the nerves over with and spend a quiet moment together with our favorite coffee.
“We then read, shortened versions to each other during the ceremony and it was really nice for the guests to hear a snippet of our love.”

Our first dance is my second favorite moment because we didn’t tell our friends and family what we were dancing to, and my sisters were so surprised – their smiles and reactions were unforgettable. Matt’s favorite moment was walking down the aisle after we were announced husband and wife!”
Wedding Day Attire
“I wore a beautiful Newhite Bridal fitted strapless gown that I purchased at Lovely Bride NYC. My veil is also Newhite Bridal. My shoes were Badgley Mischka and my second dress was Reformation. Matt wore a black tuxedo from Suit Supply and Allen Edmonds loafers.”

“My bridesmaids all chose their own dresses as long as I gave it the okay. It was so much fun to let them choose something that they loved and felt comfortable and confident in. I let all the girls change into a second dress if they wanted, which was also so much fun. We all took a quick break after dinner to change and do a photoshoot in the bathroom which really felt like ultimate girlhood.”
Advice For Other Couples
“Don’t be afraid to smile and laugh, it’s not that serious. We both had the biggest smiles on our faces the entire day, our photos are so funny because we feel never smile that big regularly.”

“Hold hands, don’t leave each others sides, and dance like no one is watching. Your guests will vibe off your energy, so if you are having the best time, they will too.”
“Go big on the vendors that are important to you like your venue, photo and entertainment. I recommend these vendors to anyone who will listen, they made our day everything we wanted it to be and more.”
Honeymoon
“We waited until the summer to go on our honeymoon in July and spent two weeks exploring Italy, starting in Florence and Tuscany and then traveling south to Sorrento, Capri and Positano.”
“It was the best two weeks of my life. We ate the most amazing food, and drank wine everyday without ever getting a hangover. I am so happy we planned the honeymoon after our wedding because it gave us so much to look forward to and I still felt like a newlywed come summertime!”
