Details of the day: Our day was truly magical! Everything we envisioned came to life on our special day. Back in late January 2015, we began to write down venues we wanted to go look at. The Crystal Ballroom at the Radisson Hotel in Freehold was one of our choices. It was the first venue we went to tour and winded up being the only place we looked at! From the minute we walked into the Crystal Ballroom we knew we were having our wedding there. Sydney welcomed us with such enthusiasm and a warm heart. They also offered us such an incredible deal that we just couldn’t resist. In the process of our planning, Sydney listened to everything we wanted and made sure that we got it. We felt like we became friends with her and looked forward to every meeting we had with her. In addition, Sue, our Maitre’d, was so attentive to all the details that were important to us. We went there with diagrams and what may have seemed like ridiculous requests (please make sure mirrors are cleaned, window sills wiped down, etc) and she listened to us and made sure everything on our “to-do” list was marked off. The night couldn’t have ran any smoother- the service was impeccable and a majority of our guests commented on that.
We didn’t necessarily have a theme, however, if we had to pick one we would describe it as “Winter Wonderland”. I had a white fur jacket and the bridesmaids each had a white fur shawl, which added a winter feel as well as the all white flowers. In regards to the venue, everything was white, silver, and a blue (almost ice like) uplighting added the finishing touch! Our room truly looked exactly how we wanted it to- guests described it as “elegant” and “classy”- the two exact words we wanted it to be described as. In addition, we had a signature drink called the “Winter-Tini” which was a blue colored vodka drink in a coconut rimmed glass.
Our details were just AMAZING! Our florist, Bloom Floral & Events of Freehold, NJ went above and beyond anything we could of imagined. Bobby pipe and draped the entire room with beautiful white drapery, which created a totally different look of the room. He also added elegant hanging crystals to each of our centerpieces and a circular mirror underneath each centerpiece for a little extra depth.
Our sweetheart table had a memory place setting, which we talked about at the end of dinner. It was a symbol for all of those that we lost that we knew weren’t physically there with us but spiritually. We also added little details to the bathrooms such as, personalized hand napkins, baskets filled with items that our guests might need, flowers for the women’s room, and a little sign that reminded that women not to spend too much time in the bathroom because they should be dancing with us! We added little centerpieces to each cocktail table as well (mason jars with the rim wrapped in crystals and one white garden rose in each one). We also created our own program, called the “Daily Vow”, which modeled the layout of a newspaper. We created a top story and talked about how we met and how we got engaged.
Couldn’t live without: We couldn’t live without our amazing band Mission Dance! They made our wedding unforgettable and seriously had every single person up on the dance floor at some point in the night. They played a huge variety of music and blew our guests and us away! Their interaction with our guests and their enthusiasm were truly remarkable.
