Instagram! We had a modern love story. We had no mutual friends but Instagram brought us together. We met two weeks into talking and we clicked immediately.
He proposed to me at Bella’s Beach in NJ. We went out to dinner for our one year anniversary and he had my friends and family members clear out a section of the beach to set up a bottle in the sand for us to walk by. The bottle had a poem I read while he got down on one knee. Afterwards, everyone popped out of where they were hiding to congratulate us!
Our colors were cream/mauve, for flowers we used roses and hydrangeas. We had two ceremonies, first one was in the morning at The Cosmopolitan with my family and friends. The second is a traditional thing we do, my husband’s family picked me up and we went to The Tides Estate to celebrate the actual wedding with everyone.
We loved the high ceilings, staircase and the overall look of the Tides Estate. Not to mention, the price was the winning factor. It was the fifth venue we checked out and the only one that checked off all of our needs.
My gown was a Martina Liana. I customized the gown to flare out the bottom more and add off-the-shoulder sleeves. This was the first gown I actually tried on. I had my family and friends there and everyone cried when I walked out and immediately agreed it was the one! I tried on a couple of other ones to be 100% sure and kept wanting to try the first one on again.
Finally getting to dance! The whole morning I was stressing that something would go wrong until the wedding actually happened and I was having fun. It was great seeing everyone have a good time and see everything we planned for a year come together.
The flowers! I was obsessed with having big floral centerpieces!
My backdrop did not come out the way I wanted so I had the staff at The Tides take it down so it didn’t show. We had a photo booth that I never got the chance to go to. Worst of all it rained, all our photos together were indoors but in the end everything was great.

Don’t stress all the little things! Also – bring flip flops. I wore flip flops for 90% of my wedding!
