Details of the day: The moment we walked into the Molly Pitcher Inn we fell in love with the venue and knew we had to have our wedding there. It was on the water and had a sophisticated feel. We loved that our out-of-town guests got to spend the night there, that our cocktail hour could be outside, and the fabulous reputation of their food. Our theme and feel of the wedding was built upon this location. We loved music, so having a band was an obvious choice. Given the size of the space and my love for flowers, having grand tall center pieces was necessary.
The bridesmaids wore black Monique Lhuillier gowns, the groomsmen wore tuxedos, and all of the flowers were white to create an elegant affair. We struggled with picking favors for our guest, but one day came up with the PERFECT gift. All of the females received a mini bottle of St. Germain, the liquor in the signature Mrs. cocktail and the males received a mini bottle of Makers Mark, the liquor in the signature Mr. cocktail. These mini bottles served as the guests escort card and on the opposite side of the card had the recipe for the signature cocktail.
Your favorite part: We LOVED every minute of it from getting ready with our wedding party to the ceremony to posing for pictures to the reception. A highlight of the day was when our parents and maid of honor/best man gave their speeches at the reception. All of the speeches were very moving and special. A fun moment for the guys was wearing their Star Wars socks.
If you could change one thing about your wedding what would it be? Nothing – everything about the day was perfect and exactly how I envisioned it to be! It was AMAZING to be surround by so many people we love.
Advice for other brides: The best advice I could give anyone planning their wedding is to not sweat the small stuff while planning because it will all work out in the end. Also, I would advise them that if anything does go wrong on the day of to not worry about it because no one else knows that it’s wrong!
