“My husband and I are both science/medicine doctorates so we had an underlying nerdy theme with an overall timeless elegance incorporated into our big day. The theme surrounded our lives and what is most important in our compatibility; I love salty snacks and he loves chocolate so we had chocolate covered pretzels as favors. Our wedding day was also the anniversary of when the structure of DNA was discovered so our ice sculpture was of DNA (it looked like an elegant spiral to guests) and we had a subtle DNA design around our cake as well.”
“At The Madison Hotel Conservatory, tables were numbered in years with photos of us from each. Our wine-loving passion was displayed with cork and ribbon escort card placements. The wedding overall was classy and simple; My dress was by Martina Liana, A-line, sweetheart neckline with a belt and straps in matching beaded lace, and a veil by Bel Aire. The room was naturally decorated with hanging plants and a glass ceiling–we only felt the need to add simple candlelight of all different heights.”
“Our photographer was incredible. We had 2 hours alone with him prior to the wedding and he would grab us for brief moments in the rain and beneath the clouds for more photo-ops. Not only did this give us amazing photos but it also gave us a minute to be together amidst all of the craziness.”
“Sometimes keeping the wedding specifics simple and truly unique to who you both are as a couple is the best way to create an intimate and stunning wedding.”
