Details of the day: We decided to get married down the shore because that is what Frank and I are all about. The beach, family and BRUCE. We picked Asbury Park and The Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel for its beauty and unique beach charm. Eddie, our photographer got awesome pictures of Asbury Park’s signature boardwalk and beach. It had rained HARD right before the pictures so we got some awesome umbrella shots and then the sun came out bright! My dress was a Casablanca strapless dress with beaded top and ruching to make it look very fitted. I put flowers in my hair instead of using a veil to add to the casual beach theme. My bridesmaids wore Bill Levkoff dresses in a beautiful blush color. They are all so special to me because they have been so supportive over the years. The Berkeley provided us with everything we wanted and the day couldn’t have been any better!
Your favorite part: The ceremony! My 14yr old daughter is severely handicapped, diagnosed with a rare Chromosomal disorder, Ring Chromosome #22. When I got her diagnosis I was told she would never walk or talk…well then she WALKED down the aisle in front me holding my sister’s, my MOH’s hand. Also, having my father place my hand into my new hubby’s, seeing our child run down the aisle to his daddy, and hearing Frank’s cousin sing “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. Our ceremony was very special filled with family and love.
Advice for other brides: I know every bride says this but slow down and enjoy each moment. There is so much build up to the BIG DAY that you tend to forget what it is all about. It’s about you and your husband
