How did you meet?
We met well over 20 years ago through mutual friends. We lost touch and ran into each after 10 years at the Stone House In Stirling. From that day forward we were inseparable.
How did you get engaged?
He took me to the Barnegat Lighthouse in LBI on his boat and proposed!
Details of the day!
We had a black-tie wedding and wanted everything to be very clean and classy. Black gowns for bridesmaids and black tuxes for groomsmen completed the look. All of the flowers were white with crystals and candles throughout the venue.
Why did you choose your venue?
From the moment we walked into Westmount we were treated like royalty. They catered to us and we knew that they would be this great on our wedding day. Plus we both come from big Italian families so the food sold us! Not only was it amazing and delicious but the abundance and variety was out of this world.
What was on your menu?
The salad was a fresh Italian burrata with baby arugula, heirloom tomato, balsamic and extra virgin olive oil. For dinner options, there was roasted prime rib served off the bone in natural juices, chicken rollatini with prosciutto di parma, fresh mozzarella and marsala wine-mushroom sauce, or jumbo gulf shrimp sauteed in white wine, lemon, butter and a risotto Milanese. We also had a julienne vegetable risotto primavera. Our dessert was wedding cake and a dessert tower Viennese with cigars and cognac!
All about your gown!
My gown was beaded and trumpet style. Once I put it on I felt so beautiful in it, I knew it was the one when I cried and look in the mirror and felt so confident.
What was your favorite moment?
I think I have more than one! We were married in the middle of Covid, so at our wedding we did a ring blessing, which was so beautiful and memorable. I feel like it just added more to our love story. I also have three stepdaughters whom I adore; I read them a letter and presented them with rings at our ceremony.
One detail you couldn’t live without?
My wedding planner! I honestly don’t know what I would have done without Lauren! She kept the day running smoothly and I didn’t have to worry about a thing.
Did anything go wrong?
Nothing, Lauren had everything under control.
First dance song?
“I Do,” by Jesse James Decker.
Any advice for future brides?
Enjoy the day, take it all in! It goes by so fast!
Honeymoon location:
We haven’t had it due to Covid, but we are going to Italy, the Amalfi Coast and Positano! We did enjoy a mini honeymoon at the Boca Resort and Beach Club in Boca Raton Florida.
