How did you meet?
Kyle and I met on Bumble the dating app. At the time I was living in CT finishing up my Masters degree as a physician assistant. I went to Washington DC to see family. I had a lot of bad luck on Bumble and I was going to delete it when I got home from D.C. I was on the Amtrak going back to school when my train was delayed in Stamford CT. While Sitting there, Kyle and I matched almost instantly. Shortly after the train began to move again and I went back to school over 25 miles away from where Kyle was currently living. We met for dinner and drinks only a few days later and I knew I had met my husband. To think if I hadn’t gone down to see family and gotten delayed we would never matched and be where we are today.

How did you get engaged?
Kyle went to graduate school in the finger lakes in New York. While he was finishing up his degree, he was working in the local wineries along the wine trail on Seneca and Cayuga Lake. Every October we would make the long drive and stay for an entire weekend to visit all of our favorite wineries. On October 13, 2018 exactly 1 year and 6 months from dating, Kyle took me to my favorite winery and proposed to me along the beautiful lakeside, and had a videographer capture the whole thing.

Details of the day!
I went for a very elegant, romantic, and vintage wedding theme. I got married in October, so I wanted a very neutral color theme. Grey, burgundy, terracotta, sage, creams. We also had lots of greenery with lanterns and candles to set the mood. I decided to not do any favors as most people throw them out anyway. So I decided to do an after-party French fry station for my guests to take with them. I wanted a very different wedding and going for a very specific look. I did not get married in a ballroom But I got married in the coach house. In place of a guest book, I did a record to have my guests sign “for the record” since we are into old-school record players and records.

Why did you choose your venue?
I chose the Ryland Inn because I fell in love with the Coach House. It had everything I was looking for. I did not want to get married in a typical ballroom and I didn’t want carpet. We saw the Coach House and fell in love with the romance, elegance, and vintage feel. We wanted a very small wedding even prior to Covid. 105 to be exact. And we knew the Ryland had the perfect space for that amount of guests. They are also very well known for their food, which was important to us.

What was on your menu?
Cocktail hour was absolutely insane with several carving stations including Filet Mignon and seared tuna. We had 8 stations and several passed small dishes/bites. But the main course we wanted to be somewhat different. So we decided on the first course of Terhune Orchard Broccoli & Pecorino Salad Watercress, VS Truffle Pecorino Cheese, Watermelon Radish, Hazelnut Pesto. For the entrée, guests had the option of Golden Tilefish Black Eyed Peas, Mustard Greens, Bacon, Cippolini Onions, or Flat Iron MASHED POTATO, Sun-dried tomato, Kale, Garlic , or Vegetarian Lasagna. For dessert, we had Wedding Cake, LaBon * Petit Fours *, Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Fire Side S’MORES

All about your gown!
My gown was a very form-fitting lace dress with a long train and cap sleeves. This gown fit my personality perfectly. I am very into fitness and knew I wanted something very elegant but also sexy to show off my figure. I felt like the lace was perfect for the time of the year and it felt so beautiful on me. There was no bling on it as I am not flashy, but I am very detailed oriented, and the dress had intricate delicate lace details I loved.

What was your favorite moment?
My favorite moment was our first look. It was a private moment I would love to relive again. Kyle and I are postponed 2020 covid couple to 2021. I had waited so long to wear this dress in front of him and we had waited so Long to celebrate that moment that we had finally reached our DAY.

One detail you couldn’t live without?
I had to have the cross-back chairs, the tapered candles, greenery on the chandelier over the dance floor, and the vintage mirror for my seating chart. It was important to me to have these specific details because they brought my vision to life. I did not want to be like every other typical wedding. I wanted certain things to stand out.

Did anything go wrong?
We had someone who fell on the way into the venue and had to go to hospital. No one actually knew it had happened. The venue handled it so professionally and went above and beyond my expectations.

First dance song?
Falling like the stars by James Arthur. With a choreographed dance.

Any advice for future brides?
Take in everything because the day goes so fast, eat, have fun, and just don’t sweat the small things that you can’t change the day of. You waited a long time for this day and it goes so fast. I wish I could relive every single second from that day.

GREECE. We went to Santorini, Crete and Athens!
