Details of the day: My wedding day could not have been more perfect. We had a gorgeous day and luckily it was not too hot. I chose gold as our wedding color. The bridesmaids wore glamorous sequin gold dresses and our groomsmen wore gold vests and bow ties. My gown was detailed with gold beading and rhinestones. Our ceremony took place at my family’s beautiful church and was officiated by my husband’s family priest. We decided to take our photos on the breathtaking grounds of the Westmount Country Club. Having an Italian family, we knew the food had to be phenomenal. Our cocktail hour was extraordinary. Pre-cocktail hour started with passed hor d’oeuvres followed by a magnificent cocktail hour. Cocktail hour included, oysters Rockefeller, clams casino, lobster mac & cheese, an Asian Station with a sushi boat, fresh mozzarella with Italian meats and cheeses, a wine ice luge with all of our favorite wines, a Peter Luger Steakhouse station, premium top shelf liquor and signature cocktails including a venue favorite- The Westmount Sour, and so much more. Anything we could have imagined was served.
Our reception room was beyond amazing. We had a personalized monogram right where our bridal party along with our parents and grandparents were announced into the reception. Directly behind the dance floor and sweetheart table were floor to ceiling windows that led to a balcony which gave our guests outstanding views of the sunset during our first dance. The tables were each set with three rustic gold glass goblets with floating candles, hydrangeas, and gold glass votives lit around all around the centerpieces. Toasts were made by my father, our priest, our maid of honor, and best man. Our maid of honor (my sister) put on a parody performance of the Fresh Prince of Bel-air theme song. It included details from when we first met up until our wedding day. It was amazing and blew our guests away. Everyone danced to the tarantella and continued dancing all night long. Following dinner and a night of dancing, we had a cigar roller on the back balcony. He hand rolled cigars along with serving after dinner drinks to our wedding guests. For dessert we had a Viennese dessert hour which included baked Alaska, a gelato cart, assorted Italian pastries, creme brûlée, nutella crepes, a cappuccino station, a limoncello cart, a chocolate fountain with fresh fruits, and our beautifully detailed fleur de lis wedding cake. Our unforgettable night concluded with a sparkler send off.
Your favorite part: My favorite part of our wedding day was when we were announced into our reception as Mr. and Mrs. JohnAnthony Ross. It was surreal walking into the gorgeous ballroom, surrounded by our family and friends that were all gathered to celebrate our love for one another. Seeing all of our handwork and planning come to life was absolutely amazing!
If you could change one thing about your wedding what would it be? If I could change one thing about our wedding day, I would have taken some more time to eat the amazing food served at our cocktail hour and during the Viennese dessert!
Advice for other brides: Stop for a few minutes and take everything in. You will never get this moment again.
