Details of the day: I wore my Pronovias Petunia wedding gown and absolutely loved it, with its full lace mermaid gown underneath an ethereal lace layer. I added rose gold Badgley Mischka heels, my mother’s sapphire wedding ring (blue, borrowed and old!), crystal earrings and bracelet by Nadri and, of course, my own rose gold wedding rings. My maid of honor and I designed all of the floral arrangements, with roses purchased at fiftyflowers.com. I bought ceremony and reception decor at many places during the previous year, including Crate and Barrel, Save-on-Crafts.com, home goods and the Knot. Carla Friday from Details Made Simple was a kind and supportive Day-of-Coordinator and decorator. Family wedding photos were displayed. Bridesmaids chose their own dresses in spiced wine from J. Crew, and the groom, groomsmen and Dads rented tuxedos from Mademoiselle. My favorite part:
Our favorite part of the day was having all of our friends in the same place and seeing everything we spent so long planning become such a happy event for everyone we love.
Advice for other brides:
If something you are planning starts to feel like a chore, just ditch it! It’s easy to get overwhelmed by things, but our day was simple and lovely and I left a lot of projects behind. And shop online for everything, including flowers. I bought more roses than I thought possible for less than any florist quote.
