Dan and Katie wed at Perona Farms on February 1, 2025.
Dan and Katie met when he was a medical student in 2022. She is a registered nurse and they met while at work.
“Dan was on a rotation at the office I was working for at the time” says Katie. “On the last day of his rotation, he left and texted me asking me to get drinks. He had to keep it professional of course!”
“We both knew very early on that we were meant to be.”
They were living in their first apartment together and Dan decorated the apartment with rose petals and tea light candles with three bouquet of roses.
“He surprised me after I came home late from a secret Santa holiday party and asked me to marry him,” says Katie. “I was not expecting it at all so the surprise was so great. I of course said yes!”
The couple chose to incorporate “very simple details.” Their colors were white, sage and hunter green with many candles for decor.

“We loved the indoor/outdoor feel of the ceremony space at Perona Farms,” says Katie. “The bright natural light along with the brick/modern finishes of the venue were too beautiful to not get married there.”
“My favorite moment was our private cocktail moment before going into the cocktail party after the ceremony,” says Katie. “We were able to take it all in and enjoy some of the food from our cocktail hour.”
The candles were a highlight for Kate. “They created a romantic feel to every room,” she says.
Katie wore the all lace, long sleeve Orla gown from Grace Loves Lace. Dan wore an all black tux. They skipped the wedding party but Katie had two maid of honors that got ready with her for the day and they each chose a high neck black gown.
“Follow your gut!” says Katie. “What’s meant to be will be and wedding planning does not have to be stressful.”
“Remember why you’re doing it—it’s about celebrating the love. “No one will remember if you had napkins with your dog’s face on them but they WILL remember the food, the venue and how much fun the night is.”
The newlyweds spent one week in Switzerland.
“Dan and I like to enjoy the outdoors whether it is hot or cold, raining or snowing,” says Katie. “We did our own impromptu hikes, explored the Alps, and spent some time at our hotel’s spa. The views were absolutely breathtaking. It was perfect.”
