Megan and Michael got married on July 11, 2025, at Park Savoy Estate.

Their Story

Once upon a time, Megan met her Prince Charming Michael but this wasn’t your typical fairytale. She traded the ballgown and slippers for a bikini and flip flops at a University of Miami Pool Party hosted by Michael’s fraternity.

Despite being a mighty senior, for some reason Mike just so happened to be Megan’s bartender where he stirred up a lot more than just a vodka cran.

From the first time they met, Megan knew she couldn’t let this one go. While it took a few years for Mike to finally make it official, it was clear that they had something special.

During Megan’s last semester at the University of Miami, Mike came down for homecoming and asked her to be his girlfriend. From then on, they’ve traveled the world and built a beautiful life in Weehawken, where Mike ended up popping the question.

The Proposal

While Mike had told Megan they were going to brunch to meet up with friends, he had something more up his sleeve.

He suspiciously received a call from one of his friends letting him know he was going to be late to the fake brunch they had “planned” which led Mike to suggest the two of them take a stroll in their favorite park. Throughout the park Mike had photos highlighting key memories from their four year relationship, but the final frame was blank. He had said it was because they hadn’t quite gotten to this memory yet and then popped the question.

Afterwards he surprised Megan with friends and family back at their apartment, and the most memorable day she’ll never forget.

Choosing the Venue

“The Park Savoy was truly a dream come true,” says Megan. “We knew we really wanted an outdoor ceremony and Park Savoy has one of the best outdoor set-ups in all of New Jersey. The grounds are stunning and make for beautiful photo ops everywhere you look.

“However, a big reason why we chose Park Savoy was that both the indoor chapel and outdoor ceremony options were stunning. The weather can be unpredictable and knowing that we had a great option rain or shine helped make it so much less stressful.”

“In addition to the beautiful grounds, getting ready suites, and elegant ballroom, the food at Park Savoy was delicious and our guests are still raving about our cocktail hour and Venetian dessert display to this day. The staff was also amazing to work with. They truly went above and beyond to ensure we had the best day of our lives. Overall, we felt that this venue truly was the total package and the best decision we ever made.”

Details of the Day

The overall theme was timeless elegance.

“We had beautiful florals from Flowerful Events which included decking out the front staircase, a stunning ceremony arch to compliment the PS garden, and of course beautiful florals all throughout the ballroom,” says Megan. “They truly brought our fairytale to life.”

“For the ceremony, we had live strings and a live painter that was able to create a stunning painting of us at our ceremony that we will treasure forever,” says Megan. “The bridesmaids wore beautiful sage gowns with bows in the back, and our decor featured black, white and gold colors to add the aura of elegance.”

They had a beautiful seating chart as well as signature drink signage, cocktail napkins and matchbooks that featured our custom M&M monogram. The monogram also appeared by the DJ booth and in lights over the sweetheart table. It was also included on a martini luge ice sculpture during cocktail hour.

“I also was really fortunate to be able to have all four of my grandparents attend our special day,” says Megan. “I wanted to find a special way to honor them as well as my husband’s grandparents who had passed. To do so, I had displayed the wedding portraits of our parents and grandparents from their own special days on the piano next to our seating chart with a beautiful sign that I had actually made myself using my cricut. It read ‘To all the love stories that came before us, thank you for showing us the way.'”

In lieu of favors, they opted to do a photobooth with a custom sign with our newly shared last name. “Guests of all ages absolutely loved it and we felt this would be much more meaningful than a physical favor that would likely be left on the table or later thrown in the trash,” says Megan.

Lastly, they had The Kicks, an NJ cover band bring the house down for their after party. “They were absolutely amazing and kept the energy going all night,” says Megan. “It was such a unique touch that our guests loved and was truly the cherry on top of a perfect day.”

Detail They Couldn’t Live Without

Megan and Michael both come from large Italian families and having an amazing food spread was essential.

“Park Savoy has one of the best cocktail hours in the state,” says Megan. “I loved how were were able to choose from so many station options like Paella, Bao Buns, Raw bar, tacos with a margarita station, and more. We were even able to include a Cuban sandwiches station which was a cute nod to us meeting at the University of Miami. Everything from the cocktail hour to dinner and the venetian dessert display blew us and our guests away. People are still raving about the food to this day.”

“Additionally, as seen in our engagement story, photos are super meaningful to us so we wanted to make sure we picked someone amazing to capture our special day,” says Megan. “Booking Amy Rizzuto was the best decision we could have made. She captured every last detail and was the sweetest person ever that helped make the day even more special. We will truly treasure the pictures she took forever.”

Favorite Moment

“My favorite moment of the day was our first look and private vows,” says Megan. “It was so nice to have the time to ourselves before all the craziness of the day began. We also didn’t share our vows with each other until the day of, so it was so heartwarming to see how each of us captured our five years together and include more personal messages than we would have shared in front of our friends and family.”

“I truly recommend it to anyone who’s on the fence about doing a first look. My husband still got super emotional as I walked down the aisle and I loved that our family and friends got to enjoy our amazing cocktail hour spread and didn’t have to spend that time taking pictures.”

Wedding Day Attire

Megan wore a stunning detailed dress from the designer Blanche. “I felt the dresses by this designer were different than your cookie cutter wedding dress, and I absolutely loved the long train on my dress,” she says.

My groom and all of the groomsman wore classic tuxes from Biltmore Tuxedos in Ridgewood.

The bridesmaids wore stunning sage dresses with beautiful bows on the back from Bella Bridesmaids designed by Christina Wu Celebrations.

Advice For Other Couples

“The wedding day is YOUR day,” says Megan. “When you’re planning the big day, make sure to make decisions based on what you two envision for your day rather than worrying about other people’s opinions.”

“For the day of, this is the most magical day of your life and likely the only day where this many of your favorite people are all in the same place at the same time. Soak it in, enjoy every moment, and try to stay by your partners side as much as possible.”

Honeymoon

The newlyweds hosted a brunch the morning after their wedding at the Highlawn and the following day their dream two week honeymoon began.

“We started in Sicily, spending one night in Palermo where we got to witness the feast of Santa Rosalia, and then spent the rest of week 1 in Taormina Sicily at the Atlantis Bay Resort,” says Megan. “We spent had an amazing itinerary full of wine tastings around Mount Etna, a boat day along the coast, visiting Isola Bella, and more.”

“We then spent the next week in the Amalfi coast. First starting in Sorrento where we were able to have an amazing boat day and see the beautiful Blue Grotto, explore Anacapri, and an enjoy an amazing cooking class at Chez Barone. We then spent the remainder of our honeymoon in Positano with amazing boat days, beach days at Arienzo beach club and dinners with the most dreamy views. We also took a day trip to Capri and ran into Derek Jeter, a New York Yankee, which made the trip even more special since we’re from NY/NJ. It was truly the trip of a lifetime and the best way to start our marriage.”
