Bill & Rebecca
Rebecca and Bill got married on October 25, 2025, at Lake Mohawk Country Club.
Their Story
It started with a swipe on Hinge. Or was it Bumble? Actually, it was both. Becca (allegedly!) didn’t remember that she matched with Bill on Hinge, but when they matched again a few days later on Bumble, Bill hoped it was a sign.
It turns out he was right.

Texting turned to talking, and talking turned to meeting for a drink at Cork City for their first date. The couple sat for hours, sharing jokes, interests and stories. It was an instant spark.
After a few dates, Bill faced the ultimate test: Becca’s cat, Stella. She was…harder to win over. But eventually Stella relented (as is the case with most people who meet Bill), and the couple’s adventures spread beyond Jersey City and Hoboken.

They traveled far and wide. From New Orleans and Wyoming, to Portugal and Paris, each trip taught them more about each other and their ability to overcome anything life threw their way (including a 19-hour drive home from New Orleans due to a cancelled flight).
It didn’t take long to recognize the intense compatibility, shared through love for live jazz music, trying new restaurants, exploring other cities and just being silly together.

The Proposal
As their lives intertwined, and they started to coexist as a team didn’t take long for the little voice in Bill’s head to go from whispering “she’s the one” to shouting it.

And so, on August 31, 2024, Bill took Becca back to Cork City and decided to add another reason for the couple to smile every time they walked past that little watering hole. He proposed, she said yes, and an overwhelming number of strangers (and dogs) hooted and howled with joy.
Choosing the Venue
It was really important to Becca to get married in a place where the natural landscape lended itself to the day and the couple felt Lake Mohawk did just that.
It’s sweeping hills, turned auburn and gold for autumn, surrounding the serene lake at its shores created a magical backdrop for such a special day. “We loved the intimate beach setting for the ceremony, and the feeling that a boardwalk, used for our jazzy cocktail hour, seems to naturally create,” says Becca.

Next was the staff. They had toured a few venues and, while all pretty, Becca’s gut feeling was that the venue coordinators that she had met weren’t necessarily up for the task.
“And then we met Blake, and really that was it,” says Becca. “We knew immediately that Blake was sharp, smart, savvy and capable of being our right-hand in creating the wedding of our dreams. And luckily, our gut feeling was absolutely accurate.”
“Working with the dream catering team of Blake, Karen, and Amber at Lake Mohawk Country Club was efficient, relaxed, and fun. We had no need to hire a day of coordinator because these ladies, along with the other employees there, had all the bases covered.”

“We also loved that Blake, with her culinary background, was able to create any dish we requested even if it wasn’t on their menu. We used this unique perk to create a custom Greek station, complete with gyro meat and falafel, to represent our favorite cuisine and our honeymoon destination.”
“Another reason we chose Lake Mohawk Country Club was the availability of the Bridal Tower and Grooms’s Den, where we respectively got ready in the morning. We thought getting ready at the venue would provides a sense of ease for everyone involved, and it did!”
Details of the Day
Becca is a graphic designer and overall creative, so it was important to her to create the wedding from scratch, by hand, brick by brick.
The vibe was cheery, with a vintage edge. A cacophony of colors and patterns created an environment of whimsy among gold candlesticks, lanterns, antique mirrors, and custom signage. Coral, mustard yellow, and burnt orange set the scene while a grounding dusty blue was sprinkled throughout, complemented by brassy gold accents and tiny decals of retro stars, asymmetrical borders, and stylized fonts.

Various warm-colored acrylic table numbers, which Becca spray painted and built herself, set against a multicolored centerpiece, and a dusty blue table cloth with a peach napkin at each place setting exemplifies the palette goal which was contrast over harmony, creating excitement, visual interest, and representing the couples innate maximalism.
The flower arrangements (centerpieces, bouquets, aisle flowers, sweetheart table, and ceremony arch decor) looked as if they grew naturally wild in a lush garden; white daisies, baby pink roses, coral dahlias, and blue delphinium filled the air with romance and joy.
Everything from the invitation suite, a colorful collection packaged in clear vellum, held together by dusty blue thread and a custom monogramed wax seal, to the bar signage, complete with custom illustrations of the couples’ cat Stella and the signature drinks (extra dirty gin martini and a maple old fashioned), to the menu, a vintage-inspired stylized piece of stationery that set the tone of the tables (there were no plates because dinner was served at curated stations), was designed and produced by Becca in the couple’s one-bedroom apartment in Hoboken.

The favors were handmade matchbooks with various different designs to represent the couples’ interests, as well as mini-Polaroids that the guests loved taking for themselves, as well as for our display table and guestbook which turned into a guest generated piece of wedding decor.
Detail They Couldn’t Live Without
“Our people!” says Becca. “Our family, our friends, each other. The loved ones that came together from all distances and all walks of life, solely for the purpose of celebrating our marriage, are definitely the one thing that we couldn’t have done without.”
Favorite Moment
The couple loved their ceremony.
“I definitely didn’t expect it to be my favorite moment because I’m not super comfortable with public speaking or being the center of attention, and although the entire wedding day was magical, I think our ceremony stole the show,” says Becca. “I walked down the aisle to a harpists rendition of the Madonna song ‘Like a Prayer,’ as I wanted to use a modern love song that felt almost tongue in cheek, with the lyrics still being romantic.”

“Our good friend Louis officiated, and carried out that responsibility with such honor and care that every guest who witnessed it was truly touched by his words. His speech was all about the hobbies Bill and I enjoy together, what makes us such a wonderful team, and our commitment to growing together. It was lighthearted and humorous, while still being sentimental and intentional.”
“The moment Bill and I shared our handwritten vows in front of our loved ones felt very special and vulnerable, truly telling our guests why they were there that day. The ceremony culminated with the breaking of the glass, which made our guests (and us) burst out with delight. We exited our ceremony to the song ‘This Magic Moment’ covered by Lake Street Dive and it couldn’t have felt more us.”

Wedding Day Attire
The bride wore a crepe gown with draped bodice, sweetheart neckline, and fit and flare skirt with front drape by Paloma Blanca in ivory. To customize the dress, she added a foot of additional train, crepe covered buttons along the entire back of the dress, and detachable cap sleeves that hung loosely of the shoulders.
She also wore an ivory veil with embroidered wildflowers near the bottom, creating an asymmetrical bottom edge. She wore a timeless yet modern low heel made of satin with a delicate scalloped trim and a sophisticated pointed toe. For cocktail hour, she ditched the sleeves and went strapless, but added sheer tulle fingerless gloves for a touch of vintage charm, and then went fully strapless for the reception so she could be free to dance the night away.

Becca’s bridal party look was one of her first sources of inspiration. She spent weeks pouring over styles, colors, and patterns trying to create a perfectly coordinated mismatched look. Each lady wore a different dress style, with a focus on textures: ruffles, drapery, ruching, cap sleeves, etc. Each dress was a different color, playing in the coral/mustard yellow/burnt orange families and extending even into some mauve and dusty pink. Her 3 matron of honors wore floral patterned dresses, completing the whimsical mix and match theme.
Bill and his groomsmen wore charcoal tuxes with black trim, black buttons, and patented leather shoes. Each groomsmen wore a silver monogramed cufflink, and a dusty blue pocket square while his 3 best men complimented her matrons of honors by wearing a custom made pocket square by the brides’ mother, Marsha. Becca had saved all her sample swatches, and Marsha was able to use them to create a dual-toned pocket square with a solid color from a bridal party dress behind and a floral pattern from the matron of honors dresses.
Advice For Other Couples
“Make a wedding email address!” says Becca. “You will send/receive an overwhelming amount of emails, both in the planning and execution stage. Being able to open that dedicated address and only see emails related to the wedding is so helpful. I also recommend using the label feature, and categorizing the emails by vendor (photography, florals, venue, entertainment, etc). This creates a really quick way to find what you’re looking for, especially when you’re vetting and comparing vendors.”

Becca adds, “Next, figure out how you want your wedding to look based on how you want the day to feel. What’s the vibe, based on who you are as a couple? Create a word map, and then start saving visuals from there. Narrowing it down this way helps create your authentic look, and avoid the Pinterest rabbit hole of saving a million different things that may not work seamlessly together.”
“Also a big thing I focused on was guest flow, and tried to consider and address anything that may cause delay or confusion ahead of time with clear instructions, shuttles, signage, and a timeline that made sense for how we wanted the day to go.”

“Most of all, when planning gets overwhelming (and it will), remember the why of it all and ground into that. You’re marrying the love of your life! It should be fun and beautiful and uniquely you!”
Honeymoon
The newlyweds went on a mini-moon after the wedding as they wanted to focus on decompressing, recapping, and just soaking in the fact that they were married. Theydrove to Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania known as the foliage capital of the Northeast and the Alps of the Poconos.
“It was like a storybook town nestled into the mountains, along the Lehigh River Gorge, surrounded by peak leaves at the end of October,” says Becca. “They have just one traffic light, a scenic historic railway, a delightful downtown shopping district, and tons of wonderful restaurants!”

“In May we jet set to Greece for almost three weeks where we’ll be seeing Mykonos, sunbathing in Naxos, living luxuriously in Paros, and getting a taste of ancient history in Athens. The trip is intended to feel really relaxed, so we’re staying a long amount of time in both Naxos and Paros so we can really immerse ourselves and just be vacationers. We’re excited for the clear blue seas, the architecture but mostly the food!”
