They Booked an Airbnb, Added a Pizza Truck & Pickleball Tournament, And Had the Best Backyard Wedding Weekend
When Jewel and Vinny started venue shopping, they had one priority: complete creative freedom. So Jewel did something most couples wouldn’t dare — she messaged Airbnb hosts asking if she could get married in their backyard. Only one said yes, and it turned out to be a sprawling villa in Malvern, Pennsylvania that became the backdrop for not just a wedding, but a three-day celebration. Their September 6, 2025 festivities included a pizza truck rehearsal dinner in the driveway, a pickleball tournament, football watch parties in the sunroom, and a ceremony under a light sprinkle of rain that Jewel called the most romantic moment of the day. With 50 guests staying on the property all weekend, it was less a wedding and more a love-filled mini vacation. Their big day was captured by Nia Weldon Photo.
Their Story
“We grew up just down the street, our paths intersecting countless times—whether through shared friends, schools and parties,” says Jewel. “It was as if the universe was ensuring we would cross each other’s paths in the perfect moment.
“And then…at our hometown bar, destiny’s timing revealed itself. I saw him and immediately thought ‘wow! I love this man.'”
The Proposal
“Vinny had a whole trip planned to Key West and a photographer waiting on the beach…of course it stormed and the flight got canceled,” explains Jewel.
The couple ended up going to Charleston, South Carolina. “It was meant to be,” says Jewal. “He proposed at a random concert we last-minute we went to and it was perfect!”
Choosing the Venue
“We wanted something that gave us complete creative freedom,” says Jewel. “I asked a bunch of hosts on Airbnb and if I could have a wedding in their backyard…only one said yes and it was meant to be.”

Wedding Weekend
That Airbnb was a villa in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
“For our rehearsal dinner night, we had a pizza truck come and park in their huge driveway and we all partied in the front yard eating pizza and dancing!”
“We saved a lot of money because we actually spent three days there, like a mini vacation. It was like a wedding celebration for three days! There is a tennis court so we also had a pickleball tournament and it was football season during the time so we all would gather up in the sunroom watching the game, dancing and listening to music.”
Details of the Day
“We wanted to keep it more intimate with our closest family and friends,” says Jewel. “Our guest count was 125 and 50 of those guests stayed the entire weekend at the Airbnbs on this property. There was another house right across from the wedding Airbnb and our friends booked that one and we would drive across in our golf carts!”
Details included baby’s breath and white roses for flowers to create and overall garden theme. In lieu of favors, they donated to the Matthew Renk Foundation.
Favorite Moment
“My favorite moment was the sprinkle of rain during our ceremony,” says Jewel. “It started as we spoke ours vows and it couldn’t of been more romantic.”
Wedding Day Attire
Jewel wore a uniquely patterned ball gown with sheer gloves and sheer scarf. Vinny wore a white jacket with a black bowtie and black pants. The bridesmaids wore all different styles of a pale yellow gown.
Advice For Other Couples
“I like to tell myself that he was a little boy waiting to find his person once just like I was a little girl once waiting for hers too,” says Jewel. Also, “give your partner grace, they are only humans too.”
Honeymoon
They went to Maine in the beginning of October for the fall scenery and lobster!
