Engaged couples looking for a New Jersey venue with coastal vibes can take a cue from celebrity couple Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley, who got married on Long Beach Island on August 19, 2023.
The Bleachers frontman—who grew up in Bergenfield, spent his summers on LBI as a kid and now has a home there with Margaret—exchanged vows with the Maid actress at Parker’s Garage, a restaurant and events venue that is the perfect setting for an elevated casual wedding at the Shore.
Parker’s Garage keeps the nautical history of Beach Haven alive while offering an open-air style that provides the feeling of being outdoors but with protection from the elements. The venue fits up to 180 guests and is part of the Tide Table Group. Parker’s Garage can host indoor ceremonies, and that same room is flipped for cocktail hour and the reception.
Shore-based photographer Ann Coen, of Ann Coen Photography, has shot several weddings at Parker’s Garage and calls it “one of my favorite venues on LBI.” The reason? “Perfect sunset views, excellent food, a cozy coastal vibe and also two blocks from the beach—it pretty much has it all,” she tells New Jersey Bride. The back part of the venue overlooks the bay, “so you are always guaranteed a sunset,” says Ann. “They have the boat slips out back, they kept the wood floor and walls, and all of the decor is real antiques and photos from local baymen of the last 100 years.”
As for the vibe that Parker’s Garage couples exude, Ann says they’re “usually laid-back but appreciate great food and atmosphere.”
Hopefully, anyone who does opt for Parker’s Garage as a venue will have as gorgeous a day as Jack, 40, and Margaret, 29, had—though likely without all the paparazzi.
Long Beach Island was teeming with celebrities, including Jack’s frequent collaborator Taylor Swift, who sparked a frenzy among fans who spotted her the day before the wedding. Less public was her 15-minute toast to—and roast of—the couple inside the wedding reception, according to Page Six. Other high-profile guests included couple Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum, Lana Del Rey and Margaret’s mother, actress Andie MacDowell.
Jack and Margaret, who were first linked romantically in 2021, held their rehearsal dinner at Black Whale Bar & Fish House, also part of the Tide Table Group.
Jack and Margaret have a home on LBI, just three blocks from the house where Jack vacationed as a child. Jack told our sister publication New Jersey Monthly: “It’s the best place, and we’re living there year-round now…basically anytime I don’t have to be in the city, we’re in LBI. And I actually
prefer it in the winter. It’s really sweet, and just a really nice, small town.” They also have a place in Brooklyn.
He added, “I don’t get wrapped up in dumb shit when I can look out at the ocean. It’s real perspective-shifting to see a large body of water—it kind of makes you just want to focus on the things that really matter.”
And last summer, the thing that really mattered to the couple was celebrating their love in front of family and friends in the Shore town that Jack loves.
