Wedding Secrets: How Many of These Are You Guilty of?

So Wedding Wire just released their first-ever Wedding Secrets Survey—and there’s some really interesting info here!! Sixty-six percent of the couples polled admitted to having at least ONE wedding secret, so we’re sure something on this list may resonate with you. How many of these secrets are you guilty of? Are are any of your secrets NOT on this list? Planning a wedding is such a stressful time—you’re bound to have had a few of these thoughts or committed a few of these secrets. It’s all normal! Just communicate with your fiancé, your parents, your wedding planner, your vendors, and everyone involved. The more information you have, the better you’ll be able to make decisions, keeping those wedding secrets at bay! Here they are!
A quarter of couples invited guests with the hope that they would actually decline.
1 out of 5 respondents were hungover on their wedding day and drank too much at the reception.
Nearly 20% of respondents lied about how they really met their partner.
20% thought “I’ll do this differently at my next wedding.”
20% secretly got married before the ceremony.
More than half of newlyweds have secret Pinterest boards before and after getting engaged.
Two-thirds of respondents admit to having at least one “wedding secret.”
1 in 4 respondents looked forward to the honeymoon more than their wedding.
Nearly a quarter of couples completely forgot the name of one of their guests.
Nearly ⅕ couples didn’t wait a full year to eat their cake.
Nearly 2 out of 10 couples told friends/family exactly what type of engagement ring they wanted.
Nearly 1 out of 10 respondents thought about calling off the wedding!
16% were too tired to “seal the deal” on their wedding night.
16 % regretted the choices they made during the planning.
7% changed their vows at the last minute.
7 % lied about living together before the wedding.
4% booked a venue or vendor before getting engaged.
