In addition to the unique and beautiful wedding venues that South Jersey provides, many are just minutes away from the beach, picturesque wineries, historic Victorian Cape May, glitzy Atlantic City or the serene Delaware River. This area (we’re focusing on locations south of Philadelphia and LBI) offers so many activities and opportunities for your wedding that you’ll be able to turn your event into a weekend-long getaway. Perhaps the best part is that the farther south you get from New York City, the lower the wedding costs, making most of these venues easy on your budget. Your options are endless in South Jersey and will allow you to create a wedding that is unique to you. Here are some of our favorite wedding venues in South Jersey:
• Abbie Holmes Estate, Clermont, 609-624-1966. This charming farmhouse-style estate offers beautiful gardens, a gorgeous outdoor rustic chapel and an indoor reception area with a large dance floor.
• Adelphia, Deptford, 856-845-8200. Adelphia offers an elegant ballroom with crystal chandeliers for weddings up to 500 guests and a nightclub for your afterparty.
• Adventure Aquarium, Camden, 856-365-3300, ext. 7375. Enjoy views of the Philadelphia skyline as your wedding takes place among the aquarium’s exhibits and sea animals.
• Atlantic City Country Club, Northfield, 609-236-4400. For elegant weddings from 20 to 200, this newly renovated club offers a beautiful ballroom, outdoor Skydeck with view of the Atlantic City skyline and $99 rates for winter months in 2020.
• Auletto Caterers, Almonesson, 856-227-3800. Auletto offers garden ceremonies, buffets, cocktail receptions, brunches, a wine cellar and two rooms that can accommodate events from 65 to 450 guests.
• Avalon Yacht Club, Avalon, 609-967-4444. This historic marina offers seaside charm and elegance, hosting weddings up to 230 guests, with ceremonies on the dock overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway.
• The Breakwaters at the Dunes, Sea Isle City, 609-263-3627. Steps from the beach and the bay, Breakwaters offers ceremonies in the sand, rooftop rehearsal dinners, a coastal-style ballroom with dark-wood floors and paneled walls, 13 guest rooms, and accommodates up to 160 guests.
• Brigalia’s, Sicklerville, 856-629-4545. With multiple ballrooms, outdoor gardens, a wedding chapel, amazing food and terrific pricing, this family-owned venue is a huge hit among many N.J. brides.
• Camden County Boathouse, Pennsauken, 856-661-3184. Vaulted ceilings, reclaimed beams, sculptural metal, crystal chandeliers and a wrap-around porch all combine to create a rustically elegant venue overlooking the Cooper River with views of the Philadelphia skyline.
• Cecil Creek Farm, Mickleton, 856-599-8925.This 42-acre working organic farm offers a comfortable and rustic feel for your wedding, with farm-to-table seasonal menus, outdoor cermonies in a circular horse paddock, indoor barn receptions, a bridal suite, and photo ops with the horses and chickens.
• Clark’s Landing Yacht Club, Delran, 856-461-2700. This newly renovated venue overlooking the Delaware River offers a gorgeous ballroom, crystal chandeliers, gardens for your outdoor ceremony, waterfront sunsets and a bridal suite.
• Congress Hall, Cape May, 609-884-6553. This iconic oceanfront resort offers sweeping views of the beach and ocean with more than 100 guest rooms, an expansive grand lawn for outdoor ceremonies and an exquisite ballroom that can host up to 250 guests.
• Corinthian Yacht Club of Cape May, 609 884 8000; capemaybeachwedding.com. This classic clubhouse on Cape May Harbor offers beach ceremonies, a ballroom for 180, screened porch, stunning sunset views and the option to add a tent overlooking the harbor.
• The Grand Hotel Cape May, Cape May, 800-257-8550. Beach ceremonies, a grand ballroom that overlooks the ocean, indoor and outdoor pools, and 172 rooms for your guests make this an ideal spot for your Cape May weekend wedding.
• The Grove at Centerton, Pittsgrove, 856-358-3325; centertoncc.com. Located in the woods of Parvin State Park in Pittsgrove’s farm country, The Grove at Centerton offers a rustic design with traditional touches and customizable farm-to-table menus. The ballroom with drop-crystal chandeliers set high above rustic wood floors features Chiavari chairs, neutral-toned linens and classic white china, and seats from 100 to 400. There’s an outdoor garden with a fire-pit lounge for ceremonies, pictures or cocktails.
• The Hotel Alcott, Cape May, 609-884-5868. This historic Victorian hotel’s main dining room accommodates 180 people comfortably and features a center courtyard with a fountain and an inviting front porch, along with newly remodeled suites.
• Icona Diamond Beach, Wildwood Crest, 609-457-2599; icona.com. Have your ceremony on one of the only private beaches in the state and then host your reception in their Pavilion, a tent with wood flooring, custom lighting and views of the ocean. Icona also offers a rooftop deck for up to 250 for a reception, cocktails or ceremony.
• The Inn at Salem Country Club, 609- 420-8190. This unique inn is located on an 18-acre property, surrounded by a 90-acre nature preserve on one side and the Delaware River on the other. This DIY venue can hold up to 125 guests with cocktails on the porch.
• Linwood Country Club, Linwood, 609-927-6134. This club’s updated ballroom accommodates 300 guests and has a moveable glass “wall” that allows for a seamless transition to the tented patio. There are picturesque views of the perfectly manicured golf course against the Atlantic City skyline, along with a brand-new bridal suite.
• Mansion on Main Street, Vorhees, 856- 751-1717. This newly renovated venue offers gardens, cascading waterfall, willow trees, charming courtyards and gazebos for your outdoor ceremony. It offers a variety of indoor spaces for events of all sizes.
• Ocean Club Hotel, Cape May, 609-884-7000. Get married on the beach, then head back inside to this beachfront boutique hotel’s SeaSalt Restaurant, where you can hold a wedding for up to 150.
• One Atlantic, Atlantic City, 609-343-9902. Located 100 yards out over the Atlantic Ocean, One Atlantic is a wedding ceremony and reception venue with fabulous views of the beach, boardwalk and Atlantic Ocean through floor-to-ceiling windows.
• The Reeds at Shelter Haven, Stone Harbor, 609-368-0100. This luxury boutique hotel offers casually elegant waterfront weddings, accommodations for your guests and a brand-new spa.
• Renault Winery, Egg Harbor City, 609-965-2111. Newly renovated for 2019, this picturesque vineyard with a 50-room boutique hotel, championship golf course and award-winning cuisine come together to create a unique destination for your wedding.
• Scotland Run Golf Club, Williamstown, 856-863-3737. Get married in outdoor wedding pavilion followed by a reception in the clubhouse with a ballroom with wood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows. Enjoy views of the golf course from the glass-enclosed cocktail space with a stone fireplace.
• Sea Oaks Country Club, Tuckerton, 609-474-6028. Sea Oaks offers views of the Atlantic City skyline, and offers a variety of spaces for your ceremony and reception, accommodating 25 to 250 guests. Each room offers windows overlooking the 163 acres of rolling hills on the golf course.
• Seaview, A Dolce Hotel, Galloway, 609-652-1800. This historic resort offers two golf courses, three ballrooms, a spa and 297 guest rooms.
• The Shore Club, Cape May Court House, 609-465-7824. This club was completely renovated in 2018 with a contemporary coastal design. It overlooks the golf course and can hold up to 200.
• Smithville Inn, Smithville, 609-652-7777. This historic, rustic lakeside inn offers beautiful gardens, cobblestone walking paths, a gazebo, outdoor ceremonies on the terrace and indoor receptions for up to 175.
• Southern Mansion, Cape May, 609-884-7171. This one-of-a-kind historic bed-and-breakfast, built in 1860, offers a Victorian ballroom and outdoor gardens for your ceremony and reception for up to 150.
• Stone Harbor Golf Club, Cape May Court House, 609-465-9270. This traditional clubhouse offers a gorgeous patio terrace overlooking the golf course, a beautiful dining room and surprise fireworks display.
• Thousand Acre Farm, Middletown, DE, 302-893-3510. This picturesque 110-acre farm just over the border into Delaware offers a scenic venue with hayrides, a custom-built barn and thousands saved on not having to pay sales tax.
• Tomasello Winery, Hammonton, 800-666-9463. This 70-acre winery offers outdoor vineyard ceremonies and reception space inside for up to 215, along with a private bridal suite, tasting room and crystal chandeliers.
• Trump National Philadelphia, Pine Hill, 856-435-3100. The Trump National Golf Club’s elegant, 43,000 square-foot clubhouse, is the perfect venue for both large and small events. Sitting atop the highest point in Southern New Jersey, Trump National offers views of the Philadelphia skyline and surrounding countryside. They offer outdoor ceremonies and indoor receptions for up to 250 in a beautifully decorated ballroom.
• The Virginia Hotel, Cape May, 609- 884-6549. This charming and impeccably-restored 1879 landmark boutique hotel offers both indoor and outdoor space for your intimate wedding, along with luxury accommodations.
• Willow Creek Farm and Winery, West Cape May, 609-884-7171. Gorgeous vineyard and gardens for your ceremony along with a villa and hand-carved post-and-beam winery for rehearsal dinner and reception. Guests can stay at their sister property, The Southern Mansion.
• Yacht Club of Sea Isle City, Sea Isle City, 609-263-7282. The yacht club is located on the bay adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway, with breathtaking views of the island, and hosts weddings up to 250.
