How did you meet?

Corey and I met through “mutual” Facebook friends. I saw he had a lot of the same friends as me from the recovery program we are both in. I added him in July, and three months later he gained interest in what I was posting. I was going through a lot of changes and breakthroughs so I wasn’t as available online like I used to be.

Then one day in September he added me on the YouVersion bible app since I used it often and we finally started talking. From there he took me to coffee and then to different meetings on the weekend and before we knew it we were hanging out often. We both are very active in church too so that’s something we’ve always bonded over. And the rest is history…

How did he ask?

October 1st is year from our first coffee date, so originally we had just planned to do dinner but due to a recent family loss, I took the day off and he was off work, too. Our original plan was to go to Six Flags but it was closed. So our back up plan is almost always to go to Princeton. We took long walks around the town, explored and walked the PU and then grabbed a phenomenal Mexican dinner at Two Sevens, before it closed. After that we grabbed ice cream at the famous, Halo Pub.

Soon after we left that area and headed home and to the park we love Turning Basin Park. It was getting dark so we walked and talked and then he finally proposed!!! I was so excited and said yes immediately!!!

It was such an imperfect, perfect day for us with a happy ending!
