Move over June! October is now the most popular month for weddings. At least according to the National Association for Catering and Events.

In a recent national survey of catering and event professionals, when participants were asked which is the most popular month for weddings, 40 percent said October and 16 percent said September, while just 12 percent said May and only 11 percent said June. 

“”We’’ve clearly seen a trend toward fall weddings,”” said Bonnie Fedchock, CAE, Executive Director of the National Association for Catering and Events, NACE. “ “It perhaps started as a more cost-effective alternative to the spring wedding, but clearly many are choosing this time of year for the fall colors, the seasonal foods.”” 

And when asked about the most significant wedding trends, participants in the survey cited locally sourced and organic foods as one of the most significant trends. We agree—see our list of trends for 2017 here!
