There’s no need to fly to Bora Bora for your honeymoon now that Sandals has brought over-the-water bungalows to the Caribbean. Just opened this past December at Sandals South Coast in Jamaica, these amazing palapa-style bungalows come with your own personal butler, glass floors to observe the Caribbean sea below, over-the-water hammocks, suspended patios with swim platforms, outdoor soaking tubs, a private beach area and access to everything the all-inclusive South Coast resort has to offer.
While you don’t have to leave your tranquil bungalow—a private butler provides 24-hour room service—if you’re looking for a little action you can take advantage of the two-mile pristine white-sand beach (the longest of any Sandals property), the brand-new over-the-water Latitudes bar, four pools, nine restaurants, seven bars, a coffee shop, complimentary water sports, nightly shows, beach parties, candlelight dinners and even a piano bar.
The only issue, besides cost, is that these bungalows are in high demand, so we’d recommend calling far in advance to book your honeymoon dates. Rates start at $220 a night per person for the main resort to more than $1,100 per night per person for the bungalows. We suggest changing rooms during your stay to minimize cost; sandals.com.
