jessica-and-chintan-unique-wedding3 Here at New Jersey Bride, we love to highlight real NJ couples and their weddings. Sometimes we stumble across a magnificent wedding that didn’t take place in the good old Garden State – but we feel it should be shared anyway. This was just the case for Jessica and Chintan’s April wedding in Portalnd, Oregon, which was unlike any wedding we’ve seen. The bride and groom had three wedding ceremonies, one in India, one at the courthouse, and then they said their vows one more time in front of the “Voodoo gods” at Voodoo Doughnuts, where legal ceremonies are performed. jessica-and-chintan-unique-wedding31 jessica-and-chintan-unique-wedding90 For her gown: In Chintan’s community, all-white wedding dresses are reserved for widows – and since it was difficult for Jessica to find a dress with accent colors that she liked, she choose to have a couture gown custom made. “Going with a custom gown was the only way to get what I wanted,” Jessica said, “Although ‘what I wanted’ drastically changed in the year-long process.” jessica-and-chintan-unique-wedding18 jessica-and-chintan-unique-wedding29 Favorite Moment: Their favorite part of the day was the hour in between their wedding ceremony and their reception. Jessica and Chintan took a pedicab tour around Portland that had a “Just Married” sign on the back. “It was a time where we could just spend it together before hosting the party at home,” they said. jessica-and-chintan-unique-wedding12 Jessica and Chintan’s non-traditional wedding day was full of beautiful details and delicious donuts (what more could you want?!). But aside from all the glitz and glamour, Jessica said it’s important to make time to spend with just your husband on your wedding day. “After all, that’s what it’s really about.”   Wedding Location: Multnomah County Courthouse (Portland, Ore. USA) Reception: Our custom built home (we moved in four days prior to the wedding) Bride’s Shoes: Christian Louboutin for the ceremony, gold sequin Converse for the reception Bride’s Accessories: Custom 24k necklace/earring set from Mumbai, the gold bracelet was my “something borrowed and something old” and was lent from my best friend Erin Smith (it was her mother’s, and her mother wore it at her own wedding 40 years ago) Bridesmaid Dresses: Custom couture from Embellish Designs Hair: Melanie Lindsey of Picasso Artistic Salon Makeup: Melanie Lindsey of Picasso Artistic Salon Groom’s Attire: Custom made in Mumbai Flowers: Brooch Bouquet custom made from Secret Garden Bouquets Cake: Dream Cakes Invites: Adorn Invitations Photographer: Powers Photography Studio
