Mi'Jaut & Chavonne

Chavonne and Mi’Jaut tied the knot on May 18, 2025, at The Marigold.

Their Story

“We met unexpectedly during a girls’ night out,” says Chavonne. “He came up to us and asked if we wanted to all hang out.”

“When he asked to see me again, I told him he had to take me on an official date first,” she adds. “He did and that first night ended with us talking for hours at the beach. We’ve been inseparable ever since.”

The Proposal

Mi’Jaut proposed on Chavonne’s 26th birthday during what she thought was a simple dinner at Ocean Prime in NYC.

“When both of our moms walked in, I assumed they were just there to wish me a happy birthday until I turned around and saw him on one knee with a ring in hand,” she says. “Of course, I said YES! “

After dinner, he surprised her again with a beautifully decorated room filled with blue roses, flower petals, and gifts.

Details of the Day

Their wedding was romantic and glam, with a soft palette of whites, creams, and shades of blue. The florals were hand-selected and paired with sparkling décor accents.

The menu was thoughtfully curated with options for every guest, and signature drinks—a classic margarita for her and a Kir Royal for him—added a personal touch.

Choosing the Venue

“I chose The Marigold because the moment I walked in, I was completely taken by how grand and stunning the space was,” says Chavonne. “I was drawn to its luxe, modern design. The chandeliers alone felt like a dream!”

“From the flawless service, valet to hand-passed drinks, I loved how much freedom I had to personalize every detail,” she adds. “The staff made the experience seamless and truly unforgettable.”

Favorite Moment

“My favorite moment was watching both of our families come together on the dance floor, laughing, smiling, and celebrating as one,” says Chavonne.

“It was such a beautiful reminder of the love that surrounded us—it truly felt like magic and the beginning of something so special,” she says.

Detail They Couldn’t Live Without

“Incorporating the color blue was something I couldn’t imagine our day without,” she says. “It’s been my favorite color for as long as I can remember, and having it woven throughout the wedding made everything feel so true to me. It brought a sense of calm, beauty, and joy that made the day feel even more special.”

Wedding Day Attire

Chavonne wore a glittery ivory lace gown with a dramatic feathered train and a custom cathedral-length veil adorned with sequins, glitter and lace detailing.

“My husband looked incredibly sharp in a classic ivory jacket, black suit pants, and a black bow tie,” she says.

The wedding party complemented the look in sky blue gowns and black-and-white tuxes.

Advice For Other Couples

“The day goes by so quickly, so be sure to pause, take a breath, and really take it all in—just the two of you,” says Chavonne. “Look around, hold each other’s hand, and remember what it’s all about. Those little moments become the memories that stay with you forever. Also, make sure you eat!”

Honeymoon

The newlyweds spent a week in Antigua at Cocobay Resort, an all-inclusive, adults-only escape that was pure paradise.

“We stayed in our own private hut with a pool, soaked up the 90-degree sun, and just enjoyed each other—jet skiing, boat rides, shopping, amazing food, drinks, and so much laughter. It was the perfect mix of romance and fun.”
