Robert & Courtney
Courtney and Robert got married on January 3, 2026, at the Olde Mill Inn.
Their Story
“Our love story began on the dating app Hinge. It all started in 2021 after a year of the world being shutdown,” says Courtney.
“I finally decided that using a dating app might be the ‘new norm’ when it comes to dating and meeting people. Robert and I met at a local restaurant near him and the rest was history.”

“Our relationship has always felt different than ones in the past. Feelings and emotions felt heightened, but in a good way. We wanted to try harder and be better not just for ourselves but for each other.”
‘It was never a question of IF we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. It was just WHEN we wanted to do it.”

The Proposal
Courtney’s family goes away every summer for their family vacation. Rob knew he wanted her family to apart of such a special moment so he decided to propose in July of 2024 in Outer Banks, NC.
“We just celebrated our one year engagement this past July 2025 in the same spot he proposed,” says Courtney. “It is now a tradition to go back to the same spot every year to remember where it all started.”

“This coming year it will be the second year since he has proposed and seven months married!”
“One day (if we are lucky) we will bring our children to that same spot so they can share in our love story and always remember where their parents decided to take their relationship to the next step.”
Choosing the Venue
Courtney was sitting on the computer reaching out to numerous venues in New Jersey trying to find the perfect one. Then, she found the Olde Mill Inn.

“The Olde Mill Inn had everything,” she says. “It had the big beautiful ballroom, the hotel on site for guests, a getting ready room for the bride and her bridesmaids, a game room for the groom and his groomsmen, an after party bar right next store (The Grain House). It was a no brainer, especially in January with the cold weather and a chance of snow.”
Details of the Day
“The theme we were going for was warm and romantic. We got married in January so we knew we wanted A LOT of candles all over. Candles were our main focus with the florals as an accent. Our florals came from Park Floral in Rutherford. We told them we wanted all white florals with a pop of greenery throughout.”

“The Olde Mill Inn created our menus based on the food selection we picked. The menus did not disappoint and took one thing off our shoulders when it came to another thing that needed to be done.”
“Lastly, we were going back and forth with our favors. We knew we wanted something the guests would enjoy. We decided to do a help-yourself candy bar. We packed a handful of jars and vases with different candy options and provided a clear bag with our label on it for the guests to fill. Who doesn’t love candy, right!”
Favorite Moment
“Our favorite moment was dancing with all our family and friends. The thought of knowing all of your closest people are in ONE room was amazing!”

“Rob and I were on the dance floor the entire night with the biggest smile on our faces. Thanks to our amazing DJ (JP from Posh) he had the dance floor PACKED.”
Wedding Day Attire
The bride wore a Maggie Sottero gown from Hearts for You in Manalapan. She had her mother’s Tiffany pearl earrings in. Courtney wore white van sneakers on her feet.
Robert wore a fitted tux from Men’s Wearhouse with a white pocket square. As well as his grandfathers cross necklace that was given to him after his grandfather passed away in 2024 (shortly after their engagement).

The wedding party was wearing black. The groomsmen were in tuxedos from Men’s Wearhouse as well with black pocket squares.
The bridesmaids were allowed to choose their own dress off of Azazie with just two filters they had to pick. One being the color black, and the fabric being stretch satin.
Advice For Other Couples
“Our advice is for couples who are engaged looking for their dream venue. In 2026, the prices of everything are through the roof. You do not need to spend thousands and thousands of dollars to make your dream come true. Do our research, set your budget, and stick to it.”

“At the end of the day all the little things don’t matter. The only thing that matters is the person you are choosing to spend the rest of our life with.”
“Thank you to the Olde Mill Inn. I was able to keep my dream alive!”
