Stephen & Jamie
Jamie and Stephen got married on April 26, 2025 at The Breakers on the Ocean.
Their Story
Their love story began 9 years ago in Baltimore, MD where Jamie was working at a theatre company and Stephen was working on the tv show House of Cards.
After both swiping right on Tinder, they had a lunch date at a little Italian restaurant called La Tavola. Following this short date was the longest second date including the Baltimore Aquarium and cooking a meal together.

“This date meant so much to us and our relationship was born,” says Jamie. “Throughout our time together, we have lived in Baltimore, Wilmington NC and now Los Angeles, continuing to follow our dreams in the entertainment industry. Our passion for entertainment continues to be a constant theme in our relationship and makes us stronger as a couple.”
The Proposal
Stephen had always planned to propose at the beach, the question was always which one.
“There were plenty close to their hearts. Wilmington, NC or Southport, NC were top choices, but eventually he settled on Bradenton, FL—where they had spent a stretch during Covid.”

“While we juggled work and the Writers/Actors strikes in LA, he planned a trip and reached out to Danielle Lefebvre Photography about surprise photos on the beach.”
To get Jamie to the beach, he planned a nice dinner on one of their last days in Bradenton, with a walk on the beach at sunset (her favorite time of day) before their dinner.

After a nice walk, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She immediately said “yes!” The few people on the beach started clapping and the ‘hidden photographer’ was capturing it all.
Choosing the Venue
“When deciding where to get married, we thought about all the places we have lived and what meant to us the most, ” says Jamie. “The common thread was the beach. We aren’t very religious people but the beach to us was where we felt the most peace.”

“Our families were very important to us as well so we wanted a location where everyone could easily travel to. We landed on Spring Lake, NJ since Stephen family is from NJ/ NY and Jamie’s family is from Pittsburgh.”
“We chose The Breakers on the Ocean because it was a combination of everything we were looking for; the beach, vintage charm, amazing food selection and the hospitality was unlike anywhere else,” says Jamie. “It was also important to us, having lived all over the country and having guests from 17 different states, that lodging was easy for them. Planning a wedding across the country is no easy task, and The Breakers staff were beyond helpful, from the very first meeting.”
Details of the Day
“We wanted a vintage feel with an old Hollywood vibe, since we both work in the entertainment industry,” says Jamie.

From there, Jamie sourced all 50 candlestick holders and picture frames from various thrift stores.
“We decided on navy blue and brass for its timeless look, along with light blue and ivory to complement. Planning a wedding from across the country, we were lucky to have a venue that provided centerpieces within our color scheme.”

“Our details were personal (dinosaur wedding cake toppers, script “sides”, Pittsburgh cookie table and rose petal toss) and we tried to include our family in the making of these details, since we both come from big Italian families.”
“Our favor was boxes of cookies from the cookie table. Jamie’s mother made all of the cookies (80 dozen) and transported them from Pittsburgh to NJ for the occasion.”
Favorite Moment
“We have many favorite moments from our day but the two that stick out to each of us are the ceremony and after all the ‘scripted’ stuff was over,” says Jamie. “Our ceremony was extremely personal. We got married in The Allaire Chapel that was built in the 1800s. The pastor who married us was Steve’s childhood best friend.”

“Our ceremony was filled with personal stories, love quotes, bible verses and a lot of laughter. We filled every seat in the chapel and added live music with a trio of violins. It was truly special. After everything was done, another favorite moment was being able to let loose! Talk to friends and family we haven’t seen in a while, dance, eat from the cookie table and celebrate!”
Wedding Day Attire
Jamie wore an A-line, chapel length gown with custom details added to it. It also had a stitched patch on the inside of the dress, with their names and wedding date.
Stephen wore a navy blue suit with ivory details on it.
The bridesmaid picked their own navy gown at David’s Bridal.
The groomsmen wore gray suits with navy details from Men’s Wearhouse.

Advice For Other Couples
“What has worked for us over the many years is supporting each other in our passions,” says Jamie. “From day one, we have always deeply cared about what our dreams are.”
“However, we support each other in our highs but remember to support each other extra in our lows. If you can be there in when things get tough, it will make the success that much sweeter. Support your partner in your highest of highs but especially in your lowest of lows.”

Honeymoon
The newlyweds went to Croatia for 15 days.
“It had everything that we wanted in a trip—ocean/beach views, history and great food. Being Game of Thrones fans also didn’t hurt.”
“The trip was roughly half Split and half Dubrovnik. We spent a few days relaxing at the Radisson in Split, hitting the beach and getting massages. We then moved into an apartment in the heart of Old Town. From there we explored the city, and took day trips to (the stunning) Krka National Park and Šibenik. Then we went to Dubrovnik, where we walked the walls and visited the Elamite islands.”
