Tarran & Alissa
Alissa and Tarran got married at Farm on Main on September 6, 2025.
Their Story
“Like many great stories, ours started at an NYC Karaoke bar in 2018,” says Alissa. “After being introduced by mutual friends, we spent the night impressing each other with renditions of Nickelback’s ‘Photograph’ and Lil Wayne’s ‘A Milli.'”

“The sparks were there, but it wasn’t until our first date on a Thursday in 2019 that they really started to fly,” she says. They began going back and forth between the East Village and Williamsburg exploring every bagel shop, bottle of red wine, and live music spot in between.
“As new love knocked us off our feet, the world turned upside down with it, and Covid lockdown ensued after just eight months together,” says Alissa. Suddenly they were in a long distance relationship between New Jersey and Boston.

“As Covid wound down, and we matured into our late twenties, we found that running up and down the East Coast comes at a cost. Taking a leap of faith beyond my New Jersey roots, we reunited and signed our first apartment together in Boston, where the bagels aren’t as good, but the promise of a new life together started to bloom,” she says.

“After a year of fishing trips in the “harbah”, ski trips in “New Hampshah”, and many an oystah dinnah, we found this new life was something we wanted forever (“forevah”!)” says Alissa.
The Proposal
The pair packed for Martha’s Vineyard like they would any other Memorial Day Weekend in New England – raincoats, rain boots and an ambitious small tube of sunscreen. That said, when the sun was shining on Friday, May 24th, 2024 they were already in a celebratory mood.

They kicked off the day by spontaneously renting a mini cooper convertible and cruising around to their favorite spots on the island.
“While picnicking on the beach, Tarran began to recount our favorite moments, which made me suspicious,” says Alissa. “But he paused, and said he wanted to get a better look at Martha’s Vineyard’s notorious red sand.”

“Unbeknownst to me the photographer hadn’t arrived yet. We continued our day and strolled up the beach, walking until we reached the Aquinnah Cliffs. There were a few tourists on the landing, but time seemed to stand still as Tarran got down on one knee.”

“After an easy yes, and a few photos snapped by the photographer, we made our way to lunch where all of our closest family and friends were waiting. That moment kicked off what would be an unforgettable weekend, and our first few bold intro’s as ‘my fiancée’.”
Choosing the Venue
They started planning a few weeks after they got engaged and were soon faced with a set of seemingly impossible questions.
“We wanted an outdoor feel, but didn’t really want to gamble the weather. We wanted a rustic vibe that somehow whispered ‘nautical.'”

“We’d spent years vacationing on Long Beach Island, and narrowed the search to around those 18 miles. I remember visiting The Farm on Main for the first time and immediately knowing it was for us. About a 10 minute drive from the LBI causeway, it offered the rustic yet coastal atmosphere we’d been searching for.”

“The staff was warm and welcoming, and to round out our wish list, their greenhouse offered the most charming and stress-free rain plan. “
Details of the Day
“With an early September wedding date, we wanted to capture the late summer magic and sense of new beginnings that seasonal transitions bring,” says Alissa.
The mood board was built around deep oranges, light purples and blues, sage greens and a pop of baby’s breath here and there (thank you wildflower florals!).
“We fully embraced The Farm’s rustic appeal, by pairing their handcrafted wooden tables with timeless décor like our vintage tableware and glasses,” she says. “But what really tied the day together were our nods to the beach and fishing culture of LBI, just a few miles east.”

“My mom and I worked with our family friend Tricia, who helped in creating our one of a kind oyster shell seating chart, fishing rod inspired bar signs and fish themed signature drink stirrers.”
“Tarran’s family even transformed an old skiff into a custom beer cooler, which was not only an incredible touch but also kept the cocktail bar line (relatively) short.”
Detail They Couldn’t Live Without
“Part of what drew us to The Farm on Main was the unique way their Forsyth Barn can host a large party and still feel intimate,” says the bride. “The Sunny Rae’s catering team’s preference to family style further cultivated this feeling, along with our choice to organize The Farm’s long table’s communally. However, the detail that truly made it feel special was the vintage tableware that we worked with Beth’s team at Everyday Fancy to bring in.”

The hand selected mismatched china and colorful goblets added the perfect element of “elevated dinner party” that complemented The Farm’s barn setting beautifully.
“As a couple, cooking and sharing meals is part of our love language so bringing that part of the night to life in a unique way was especially important,” she says.
Favorite Moment
“The day was a culmination of months and months of planning, so each part felt momentous in its own way,” says Alissa. “But there was a moment right before the ceremony when Tarran and I were gathered with the entire wedding party in The Farm’s loft. A few people shared a toast, you could hear our band Epic Soul warming up, and the excitement felt really electric.”

“I remember thinking no matter how much time we spent prepping, it’s the people who really made that day special. We’re so grateful to our friends and our parents in particular for making it all happen!”
Wedding Day Attire
Alissa’s dress was by Australian designer Mariana Hardwick. Her bridesmaids wore their choice of Alfred Sung dresses, all in Dusty Rose Satin Twill.

The groomsmen all wore Calvin Klein Tuxedos, and Tarran wore a custom Indochino Tuxedo.
Advice For Other Couples
“Not everything’s going to go as you’d planned – there may be rain in the forecast, you may forget half of your vows in the printer. It happens!” says Alissa.

“My advice is to take the day in strides, and appreciate every moment you have with the people around you. No matter how the day unfolds, if you’re present for yourself and for each other it will be your own version of amazing.”
Honeymoon
“After the wedding, we needed a beach nap like we needed air,” says Alissa. “We set off to Curacao for our mini-moon where we spent five days relaxing, exploring the island, and recapping all of the hilarious moments from the wedding weekend.”
They plan to go on a longer honeymoon right around their one year wedding anniversary in September 2026.
