How did you meet?
Steve and I were at a mutual friend’s 30th birthday party. We were probably the only two single people there. We both sat down on the couch next to each other and naturally conversation started to flow. (Side note: I remember swiftly deleting my dating app on my phone while I was sitting next to him because I was embarrassed!) I was staying over my best friend’s house that night. Steve had a few drinks, so my best friend gave him a ride home. We exchanged numbers and we haven’t stopped talking since.

How did you get engaged?
Steve had a business trip to Switzerland that I was happy to tag along for. We decided to make a longer vacation out of it and explored the entire country in 10 days. We stopped in St. Moritz, Zermatt, Interlaken, Lucern, and Zurich. It was in Zermatt, though, that we took a gondola to the tippity top of the Matterhorn. It was so cloudy, we could barely see 10 feet in front of us. As I was attempting to look out over the mountain, Steve got down on one knee, tapped me on the shoulder and asked!!

Details of the day!
Our Rams Head Inn wedding was full of beautiful New Jersey scenery and gorgeous details. My gorgeous bouquet, from Forked River Florist, was full of blooms in white and blue with lush greenery. My lace gown matched the old charm of the Rams Head Inn and complemented the venue perfectly. The Rams Head Inn, built in the late 1800s, is full of rustic details, brick, and the biggest brass chandeliers. I drew my inspiration from our mutual love of traveling. We have been many places around the world, creating some of our best memories. We plan on traveling, together, to see many more places.

Why did you choose your venue?
Choosing my wedding venue was the HARDEST part of the entire wedding planning process. As most girls who envision their wedding day since they were young, I had a very particular image in mind for my venue. I wanted a venue that didn’t exactly LOOK like a wedding venue. Eventually, I found The Ram’s Head Inn which checked off all my bizarre requirements. The Ram’s Head Inn looks like a vintage home with a beautiful “backyard” setting for our ceremony that took place on site. They were also super accommodating and willing to work with my DOZENS of weird requests.

What was on your menu?
My wedding menu consisted of Breast of Capon, Teriyaki Glazed Salmon, and Chateaubriand

What were the flavors of your cake?

We decided to keep it pretty simple with our wedding cake flavors with Vanilla cake and Oreo cookie filling. The outside was a white fondant.

All about your gown!
My gown was designed by Casablanca Bridal. It was all lace with a sweetheart neckline and a lace cap sleeve. My favorite things about it were the sleeves and the perfect shade of ivory/light pink. I have a very fair complexion and never wear white, so one of my concerns was that the dress was going to wash me out. But the color was the perfect blend of colors that didn’t make me look like a ghost.

What was your favorite moment?
One moment? Jeeze. I’d have to say it was when both our immediate families and the bridal party went off to take pictures before the ceremony (we did a first look) During that time I was finally able to relax and hang out with the people that meant the most to me. It really helped keep me calm for what was to come of the rest of the day.

One detail you couldn’t live without?
My wedding planner, Jeanne from Bogath Weddings & Events. Although I have a decent background in planning events and weddings, my husband’s cousin was my wedding angel. Unfortunately, at the time, my work schedule was completely crazy and didn’t allow any time before my wedding for me to relax or get my details in order. Not only was she the biggest help for the day of, but her impeccable organization and connections to industry contacts helped keep me on track for our big day.

Did anything go wrong?
With Jeanne as my wedding planner, there was no chance of me even hearing about anything going wrong that day.

Any advice for future brides?
It’s hard to give advice to other brides because everyone has their own list of important things for their wedding whereas for others those things may not be as important for them. For me, it was the venue. Although, one thing I tend to see a lot of brides focus on are tiny decor details – unless you are handy with crafts and can DIY, those tiny decor details are going to add up and end up costing you a fortune! If you can, choose a venue that already has that look and feel without those small costly touches.

Honeymoon Location?
Our work schedules were really tight, so we couldn’t take much time off. My husband and I are now planning a trip for this upcoming May to Switzerland & Italy where we will explore the Amalfi Coast, Capri, and Rome for 9 days!
