How did you meet?
Playing slowpitch softball! Bill came to a tournament as a sub for my coed tournament team and we went on our first date the next day in Morristown.

How did you get engaged?
I’m a nurse – so for the whole beginning of Covid, I tried to stay away from everyone as much as possible. We really didn’t see our families until around June, so my mom planned a BBQ at her house with us and Bill’s family since we all hadn’t been together in so long. I didn’t think anything about it. When we got there everything happened so fast, and I saw my two best friends and our friend Sammy started playing music on his guitar and then Bill was down on one knee. It was the perfect day.

Details of the day!
The colors of our day were muted greys, slate blues, and white. When it came to flowers, we selected ranunculus, white garden roses, and silver dollar eucalyptus. My bridesmaids had an ombré’ effect of all different slate and pale light blues, light greys, and dark greys for their dresses!

Why did you choose your venue?
The Farmhouse color scheme just went with our vibe – the muted colors and also the farmhouse theme without being too rustic.

What was on your menu?
Our first course was mesclun greens with raspberries, candied walnuts, and blue cheese topper with champagne vinaigrette. For the main course, our guests had the option of: Filet Mignon with creamed spinach and roasted garlic mashed potatoes or Herb crusted halibut with smoked Gouda braised artichoke, English peas and basil salad.

All about your gown!
My gown was a long sleeved, deep v-neck gown with mesh & applique sleeves, open back, and draped beaded strands. I went to White House Bride and had the best experience. I walked in and said “I’m an athlete, I don’t want a princess dress and I need something comfortable.”, and I walked out after 3 hours, having FaceTimed the designer Leigh Price to talk about changes that I wanted to make to the back, and one of the fanciest custom designer dresses on the racks! It was so funny. My friend who was with me said “of all people, you were not the one who I expected to have this experience with!”

What was your favorite moment?
The whole wedding day from start to finish (including actually our rehearsal dinner) was by far some of the best times of my life. A funny memory will always be that the only 15 minutes of rain that happened the WHOLE day – occurred for the 15 minutes we were outside for our ceremony – and it like really rained at one point. My MOH, who was also our officiant, made light of it and all of our guests were such good sports and were smiling the whole time. It made the fact we were literally being rained on much less stressful! Everyone dried off halfway through cocktail hour, and the night was so fun that no one even thought twice about it. But definitely made for an unforgettable ceremony and great pictures!

One detail you couldn’t live without?
Paying you to have our dogs brought to the venue in their little outfits for pictures – it was the best money we spent all day. Also just making anything and everything we wanted to be personalized to us, including our beer favors, our specialty drinks (4 – one for each pet with corresponding pet’s faces on the cocktail hour cups), cookies with ours and our pet portraits on them, small custom figurines of our pets in our cake (we really love our two dogs Bruce & Lucy and two cats Stella & Rosie if you couldn’t tell!) and our personalized donut wall from Off The Wall Donuts! Also, the fresh Mozz being made during the cocktail hour (Vinny Mozz is a must), the big light-up name next to the DJ booth (@AlphaLitNJ), and the live wedding painter (@paintmyweddingbyelle). All amazing!!

Did anything go wrong?
Things went wrong but they didn’t affect the day for us in that moment. For the most part, I didn’t find out about any of it until the next day because our amazing wedding coordinator took care of it all! Melissa from Enchanted Allure Events is a rockstar.

First dance song?
“Next December” – Elderbrook – Live from the London Aquarium version

Any advice for future brides?
If there is something that you want for your day – do it – because you only get one chance. Don’t let anyone talk you out of something you want. Also, once you buy your dress, unfollow all of the dress accounts because you will have dress regret. You chose your dress for a reason!!

Honeymoon Location?
We are going to Curaçao in July because Bill is a teacher and we want to go for a full 10 days. We are so excited to stay at the new Sandals resort there!
