We had known each other since high school but reconnected again through Facebook. I had just gotten divorced and changed my profile picture and he gave it a “like”. I messaged him to see how he was and that was the beginning of our 9-year relationship before getting married!
Actually, we didn’t! We were together for 7 years and at that point, I just said “don’t you just want to get married?” and we went ring shopping the next day. However, since we didn’t have a traditional engagement, he surprised me and proposed to me at the altar before we actually got married!
The theme was “mint to be.” The bridesmaids’ dresses were mint green, turquoise, and teal. Our favors we labeled with “mint to be” labels and filled with mints!
We chose The Meadow Wood because it was close to home, newly renovated and everything we wanted was included!
We started with a Greek salad. Guests had the choice of chicken margarita, chateaubriand, or filet of Scottish salmon with Bruschetta. Our cake was layers of caramel de leche and chocolate.
After going through several dress regrets and not being comfortable in the dresses, I decided to go with a beautiful, all-satin dress so I was comfortable on my wedding day!

Our friends and family! They truly made the whole day, especially after having been postponed due to Covid.
We really wanted our ceremony to be outside, but unfortunately, when it was time for the ceremony, it had to be moved inside. But we made the best of it!

Take in every moment. Don’t let the small stuff ruin your day. It will go by so fast and when you look back at the day, the small stuff will seem silly.
We originally had our honeymoon booked for Aruba, but due to circumstances with Covid, we changed it and went to Key West!
