Kelly and Nick tied the knot on June 25, 2022 at the Reeds at Shelter Haven in Stone Harbor. The couple met when they were both studying abroad in Shanghai, China. When their studies came to an end, they spent weekends over the next year and a half traveling to visit each other in New York City and Washington, DC. Eventually, they ended up together in DC.
Nick proposed in Georgetown at a small park where he had set up a picnic. Nick gave Kelly a love letter before he proposed. They celebrated together before meeting up with family.
The couple had a gorgeous summer day for their wedding. The day started with Kelly getting ready at her family’s home on the bay in Stone Harbor. The couple’s first look took place at a local beach park, where the shell-lined path reflected the summer light.
Kelly’s bridesmaids dressed in neutrals and Nick’s groomsmen wore deep blue suits, the perfect choice for the blue backdrop of the bay.
A classic red convertible was waiting for Kelly and Nick to take them to their ceremony. The car and its color were such a cool and stylish addition to the day.
They said their “I do’s” in a ceremony space overlooking the bay at the Reeds at Shelter Haven.
Another fun touch? Congratulatory wishes for the happy couple went up on the classic Harbor Square Theatre marquee.
Choose a good photographer. Says the couple, “We didn’t realize how truly important it is leading up to the day and how much time you will spend with them on the day of.”
They also say to de-stress your day and have fun with each other and your guests.
“Don’t lose sight of the reason you are getting married!” they say.
The couple went on a mini-moon in Acadia National Park, with hiking, sailing, lobster rolls and toasts with blueberry beer.
