Christina and Ian’s Perfect Harmony at Seasons of Washington Township

Details of my day:

Our amazing day began at my parents house where my bridesmaids and myself got ready. Thanks to my amazing bridesmaids, I was surprisingly very calm. I received my beautiful bouquet which was made up of dark purple calla lilies, dark purple hydrangea, dark purple dahlias, etc. I was finally going to wear my amazing one of a kind Melissa Sweet wedding dress with incredible alterations done by Michael Wade Bridal in Garfield. My dress was originally A-line and because of Sophie I was able to design the dress of my dreams. She added all of the last minute touches I wanted that we’re not originally on my dress. As soon as I arrived in the church, the butterflies began to flutter! All I could think about was that I was that much closer to marrying my best friend. Once I heard our harpist, Claudia, start playing Train’s “Marry Me” I knew it was my turn to start making my way down the aisle. Our amazing florist, Yumila, really made the church look gorgeous with touches of purple hydrangea on the pews and alter. I couldn’t believe that in the blink of an eye we were walking back down the aisle as husband and wife.

Our photographer, Josh Lynn, discussed with us before the wedding we would only take a few pictures at the church due to sun light. However, I knew something was wrong when one picture became five and then ten, and so on. So I asked why we were still in the church and of course it was an answer every bride probably dreads, it was raining! Since I already told myself I wouldn’t get upset over things I can’t control I decided to take the chance and head out in the rain and fog for some pictures. Well let me tell you brides, it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Our pictures turned out to be absolutely amazing!! I can’t even tell you how many people I don’t even know that have commented on them. After our pictures we arrived at Seasons where our reception took place. We were so impressed by how each staff member really worked together to make our wedding run as smooth as possible. Coming from an Italian family we knew we needed great food and a lot of it and Seasons went above and beyond! Our guests are still talking about the food. At the reception Brian from Magic Moments did a fantastic job keeping everyone on the dance floor. He even had guests up that I never thought in my wildest dreams would be on the dance floor. We also decided to have a photo booth, which was such a good idea. Everyone enjoyed it and the best part was that we were able to keep a copy of our guests pictures to view after the wedding. It was so great to see everyone having such a wonderful time. What an amazing day we had, there is not one thing we would change!

My favorite part:

All of the little details coming together was definitely one of my favorite parts. My husband and I put so much thought and hard work into personalizing our wedding and it was so amazing seeing it all come together. Since my husband plays the guitar and I sing, music is a big part of both of our lives. There was no hesitation that our wedding needed to be centered around music. From our guitar ice sculpture to our record guest book. Since our wedding we have gotten so many compliments on our personalized wedding and how people knew we put a lot of thought and love into it. So many people said how it was “so us.”

Advice to other NJ brides:

The day goes by so fast so make sure you take in every single moment of it! We really wanted to see the reception room before everyone was brought in so we got a sneak peak. I would highly recommend doing this.

Brides, do not go crazy over things you can’t control, especially the weather. This is coming from a person who gets nervous over everything. However, I made myself let go, and if I didn’t we would have the gorgeous pictures we have today! I would definitely recommend having a photo booth if you can afford it. We had this for our favor and supplied each guest with a frame they could store their picture in.
