How did you meet?
We met in high school but didn’t start dating until a few years after graduating.

How did you get engaged?
We took a walk around Central Park and he proposed in front of the Bow Bridge. We finished the night with dinner at our favorite Cuban restaurant and went back home to a party with our close friends and family.

Details of the day!
Since our wedding was an outdoor fall wedding, we wanted to incorporate fall colors so we chose burnt orange, tan, and accents of gold. Our theme was boho so we had beautiful pampas grass, burnt orange roses, toffee roses, dahlias, cremons, quicksand roses, and a mixed of seasonal filler flowers all through out the venue. We also had a giant, stunning flower chandelier right above the dance floor. Our favors were burnt orange shawls to keep our guest warm since the night was chilly and we also had a cigar bar so guest could take home freshly rolled cigars. We also had a stunning macramé table cloth for our cake table that was made by my husband’s late grandmother that fit the theme perfectly and was a special touch.

Why did you choose your venue?
It was the first venue we looked at and we instantly knew it was the one. We had a few other meetings with other venues but we felt nothing compared to Minerals. Being in Vernon in the fall is stunning so we knew the venue would just be stunning!

What was on your menu?
Our wedding menu was delicious! We had an amazing cocktail hour and our dinner was a buffet that consisted of prime rib, pork chops, chicken marsala, wild mushroom risotto, and steak. Our cake was three tiers of chocolate fudge, chocolate mousse, and carrot cake. We also had a venetian table and ice cream bar.

All about your gown!
The second I walked into Castle Couture Off the Runway I spotted my dress. I tried on five dresses total but none of them compared to the first one I tried on. My dress was an A-line, beaded top, low cut back, and a tulle bottom.

What was your favorite moment?
Just being with all our friends and family in the same place is something I will never forget. It was so touching to have everyone travel near and far to celebrate us. Another really special moment was right before dinner our band played The Prayer by Andrea Bocelli. I associate that song with my grandfather who passed away and when I heard that song I lost it and knew it was a sign that my grandfather was there celebrating with us.

One detail you couldn’t live without?
I am a graphic designer so I designed all our own signage and stationery which I needed to be perfect. I am extremely happy with how it all came out!

Did anything go wrong?
Honestly, no. I was so nervous about making sure everything was perfect leading up to it but the day of I just decided to relax and let it all go. My mentality was, “it is what it is” at that point and I truly feel it made the day go by smoothly and ended up being stress free.

First dance song?
My husband and I are naturally not the first people out on the dance floor so we decided not to do a first dance.

Any advice for future brides?
Just relax! Like I said before, I feel the day goes by so much smoother when you let go of all your worries. Your day is going to be perfect no matter what happens so try not to stress about the little things and just go with the flow.

Honeymoon Location?
We went to Oahu, Hawaii for 12 days and stayed at Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa. We had both never been to Hawaii before and it was gorgeous and exceeded our expectations.
